It's fine if you get bored of it, but the school has to teach too many people to get them all personalized education. It's much more useful to have schools teach all general knowledge. Because while you have your career down, what about all the other people in the school system who don't? Plus, at what age should people start getting their specialized education? Surely you don't think a 10 year old can see that far into the future to start planning for college, right? Even if we all agree on that when you become a freshman at high school, the school is still too big to give personalized education. It's much more useful to keep everyone in a sort of pattern because then you can accommodate all fields of knowledge in case someone changes their career path and it's also useful in the fact that you know you offer a class that teaches that subject. It's also useful for everyone to be "Renaissance People" in the education system because you don't have to form to each of the hundreds and possibly even thousands of students. It's going to be very difficult to go through everyone's needs and wants and to be able to keep track of them especially if they keep changing. There's a set standard that everyone get these forms of education so that each of the students have the general knowledge needed if they want to go into that field.

Now don't get me wrong, I think personalized and custom education would help everyone learn more, and actually learn all the stuff not just memorize like what's happening now, at least in the USA. However when you're talking about the public school system, it's not useful to individualize everyone's education in case people want to change professions. People will have to start at the basic level of the new subject, increasing the amount of time spent in school, and even if you already took all the level 1 classes, you'd have to go from (for example) Level 5 English to level Level 5 Chemistry. They're the same level, but each one takes up a year. You already signed up for the Level 5 English so you can't just back out in the middle of the year.

While I am too frustrated at some of the "useless" knowledge they make us learn, allow me to defend them:
What is the use of the education system? To prepare us for the real world. Which means we need jobs. Since we generally don't figure out what job we want until late high school, the school system needs to teach us everything. Because it's going to be VERY likely that someone spends their childhood and adolescence only to realize that they don't want to be the mathematician they spent hour and hour, day after day, year after year to study. This is what th education tries to avoid by making everyone a "Renaissance Man".

That's the summary of the subconscious. Your subconscious thinks about things without you even knowing it. That's how subliminal messages get to you, at least in theory. It's rather difficult to explain, I suggest you ask a psychologist. It's like how you get happy when you eat when you're hungry. Your mind sees it as continuing your life, so the brain rewards you for eating when you're hungry.

I'm not doubting Russia's record. I'm saying in the real world, we didn't see Russia as a too big of a threat until after WWII, and possibly even during. So if after the second civil war our country was united again, and every was as it is in the real world at that time, how come we in the real world didn't do any action against Stalin? To put it simpler:

In the real world, we didn't see Stalin as a threat, even with those same statistics. How come the USA in this scenario sees Russia as a threat? The USA is reunited and surely has enough military power combined to fend off against the Russians and well anyone.
