Here's an idea: Presentation is everything.
In the rap battles, it's very clear to see who won in the court of public opinion. Let's take a very popular one, like Steve Jobs vs. Bill Gates. A lot of people think that Steve Jobs won. However, in this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-VPWUfOk_c A pony music video or PMV of the same rap battle) a lot of people think Rainbow Dash (used for the voice of Bill Gates) won in the court of public opinion. The same phenomena happened in another pony adaption of a rap battle, Adolf Hitler vs. Darth Vader the Rematch (PMV: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOynRktIRSo). Most people that I've seen say that Hitler won the rematch, however a lot of people here say that Nightmare Moon (the character used for Darth Vader's voice) won. And you can guess that any phenomena happens thrice as it also happened by the same person, same style of video at this link (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ItCaiMZ3whg). A lot of people in the original video say that Dr. Seuss/Cat in the Hat and Things 1 and 2 won the rap battle. However, Rainbow Dash (the character used for Shakespeare's voice in the PMV) won in the court of public opinion.
1. I know I really bronied up this lesson, this is just a pilot, calm down.
2. This is just one instance where presentation is everything. There are plenty of examples where the same thing happens, I just thought I'd put it in a more relatable instance.
3. When taking this idea to the extreme, it suggests that no one will listen to anything you have to say, even if it's the most important piece of knowledge in the world, if you don't make it interesting and enjoyable to the people.
4. This also explains why Youtube channels such as numerphile (http://www.youtube.com/user/numberphile), Vsauce (http://www.youtube.com/user/Vsauce), Crash Course World History/Literature/USA History/Chemistry (http://www.youtube.com/user/crashcourse), SciShow (http://www.youtube.com/user/scishow), and IdeaChannel (http://www.youtube.com/user/pbsideachannel) all receive praise for their work while school is left in dregs.
And as always, don't forget to be awesome
