Song of the Day Thing #12

Here's a band Pandora introduced me to. I guess it's something of a supergroup as it's the lead singer of The Shins and the producer Danger Mouse (produces for Gorillaz, also known for stuff like Gnarls Barkley and some album mash-up stuff). I prefer this band's music to any of the two's other things, though (excepting Gorillaz). The first Broken Bells album was a really interesting mix of electronic stuff and more folk-y alt stuff, while the second took a really weird turn into disco inspired stuff. I think I slightly prefer the second album as a whole, because it has more of a consistent theme throughout and I like every song, but I think the highs of the first album reach a little higher, as shown in this song which I believe to be the best Broken Bells song.

Oh hey, this is the second song you made a post about that I've listened to before :3 But I've only listened to this one song by them and nothing else. Though to be honest, if you consider that one their best song I'm probably not going to make listening to their albums a particularly high priority. Not a knock against the song, but it's not mind blowingly amazing or anything.

EDIT: upon a few relistens, I think the song is better than I remembered it to be xD still wouldn't call it "mind blowingly amazing" but it goes from "alright" to "pretty fucking good."

That's fair. Definitely don't think Broken Bells is for everyone anyway. A lot of their stuff I would say is pretty niche.
