Song of the Day Thing #21

RADIOHEAD THURSDAYYYY

This is my favorite track off of OK Computer, which is a pretty stiff competition (Climbing Up the Walls and Lucky are both very close though). I like the lyricism a lot, especially because I can kinda relate to the narrator (wishing for some fantastic event to come and rescue me from my boring life). The guitar parts are also very interesting to me. Actually, they remind me a lot of the guitars in In Limbo (or rather, In Limbo's guitars remind me of this song, I suppose); given In Limbo is my favorite track off of Kid A, I guess that shows what kind of guitar parts I like. Love the emotion when Thom is screaming "UPTIGHT," as well. Just for kicks I think I'm gonna rank OK Computer's tracks here because I'm bored.

Spoiler:
1. Subterranean Homesick Alien
2. Lucky
3. Climbing Up the Walls
4. Exit Music
5. Paranoid Android
6. Let Down
7. Karma Police
8. Airbag
9. No Surprises
10. The Tourist
11. Electioneering
12. Fitter Happier

So this is your favorite off OK Computer huh? I used to just think this song was just kind of boring, but I think I've come to appreciate it more recently. The lyrics are good, but I still can't really get into it as much musically as some of the other songs off the album. But then again, I could say the exact same thing about The Tourist and I've started to really like that song recently. I'll post my ranking as well because why the fuck not, though honestly this list might not look the same even like, a month from now.

If I'd made this list back in November, Airbag and Electioneering would've been at the top, and No Surprises right above Fitter Happier, so yeah. My opinions on this album change a lot, I definitely understand that feeling.

Ah well, I can always count on Fitter Happier to stay at the bottom, though it almost feels unfair to put it on the list. It's barely even a song, though I do think its message is very on point.

This song is brill. I don't know where I'd rank them but Exit Music's my favorite off of the album.

Exit Music has really been growing on me lately. Given how much I've been listening to it, it may overtake Climbing Up the Walls soon. The part where the bass kicks in gives me chills every time.

(also what does brill mean I have no idea ._.)

It's a British thing, so it's relevant here. Short for brilliant :3
