C-C-COMBO BREAKER
Through the pestering of some of my more music-savvy friends, I decided to check out Sufjan Stevens lately, more specifically his album Illinois. Definitely very interesting and something I'll need to dig more deeply into. One song that already stands out to me is Chicago, a grand song over six minutes long with a lot of emotion behind it. I like how a lot of Stevens' real life pokes through in his music; this song definitely stands out in that regard. The sheer amount of instruments in this song is pretty mind-boggling, to say the least. Also, this song's position on the album (right before Casimir Pulaski Day, which is among the most depressing things I've ever heard) is pretty brilliant.
