That segment right there is to me the best part of the whole album, and that's saying something because this is a contender for my favorite RH album if not my favorite album of all time. I literally gasped when I heard that part for the first time, and I am rarely affected by a song that way. It's just delivered so... heavenly, it's disturbing. Anyway, I think this song's about divorce. Thom may have contradicted that in an interview maybe??? Who knows with Thom.
