Well, it appears it's about that time again. Hey, remember when Bernie Sanders won Michigan? And how Detroit was basically the only reason it was so close? Well, the reason I was listening to this song more recently is a combination of that fact and the fact that it's just a damn good song =P



You know, I really do enjoy songs that sound really cheerful but have kind of depressing lyrics. It's like the song's trying to put a cheerful front to hide all the dark thoughts hiding underneath. I'm sure plenty of people can relate to that... Not me personally because I don't ever go out of my way to act cheerful but I am aware that people do that sometimes. Don't you just love catchy upbeat songs about an essentially failing city? Because I sure do :3 I just love that sarcastic "It's a great idea." Also it has the best fucking instrument of all time, the motherfucking GLOCKENSPIEL FUCK YEAH!

But yeah, in my scientific conclusion Sufjan Steven's a pretty cool musician. He can pull off folksy stuff and electronic stuff pretty well, though I admittedly like his folksy work better from what I've heard of him. First time I heard of him was when Sanic brought him up earlier and now I have 4 of his albums (one of which I bought yesterday). So yeah, I can safely say I like his work. Or at least, all of his work that I've listened to so far. Also perhaps this Tuesday I might get an incentive to listen to his Illinois album some more as well ;3 (come on Chicago don't screw this up for Bern).
