So apparently we have hip-hop for emo white kids now.

...

I'll take it

This guy was recommended to me by this girl from middle school I text with about music like, once every decade or so. From what I gather this album wasn't exactly a smash hit, and as follows none of these damn lyric sites give me the full lyrics ;n; oh well. Perhaps the fact that he went under the name of King Krule with his previous album but used his actual name here contributed to that. There's no name recognition mang. Well, his voice sounds significantly different obviously but this music kind of reminds me of 90s Portishead. That is certainly not a bad thing. Perhaps I should explore "trip-hop" some more... perhaps.

Well the opening to this song is certainly ominous. Let's see where it goes from there. Right around a minute in sounds really cool, I guess that music will be the driving force for the rest of the song. It's a little repetitive I guess, but that's to be expected in the world of trip-hip I guess. I was not expecting those vocals all of a sudden... after about 2 minutes I just figured this was an instrumental. The vocals are cool though. Still sound threatening. Yeah I think I like this.

Trip-hop is an interesting genre. I've basically only touched the surface (eg Portishead) but I should really check out more.
