Song a Day or whatever #38

Well, after playing some of that Archy Marshall guy in the car my mom gave me 3 trip-hop CDs to listen to. And well, this is off one of them.

You see, the difference between a song like this and "As Long as My Bitches Love Me" is that Tricky is completely aware of how shitty such a relationship is. But really, listening to this guy made me remember how lacking in diversity my music library is. I mean, I have that one Stevie Wonder album and ummm... Ed Droste of Grizzly Bear is umm... idk what but he's clearly not purely white. That's about it, and thus so far I don't think I ever actually purchased an album by a black musician. If I ever check out Kendrick Lamar that might change but for now that's how it is. I mean, it's not my fault that indie/alternative rock is mostly compromised of white dudes. Oh well, still a good song.

I think part of it is just that alt music doesn't see much racial diversity. I can't think of any major alt band with a non-white lead singer. Young the Giant I guess, but that's about it.

This song's pretty cool. Uh, I'm actually pretty interested in the other song you mention in your description... just out of bile fascination, of course.

Oh, is that the one with Chris Brown and everything?
