Kind of surprised I didn't choose to cover these guys sooner. Well, here I am I suppose. Since I already reviewed this band before I guess I'll look at one of their songs that I didn't really mention in the review. Like this one :3
Damn I love this album. Such great singing, really good lyrics, and certainly does a good job distinguishing itself from other indie folk musically. As for this song specifically, only like half of it has singing, but the relatively brief lyrics are pretty good in my opinion. If I'm interpreting it correctly, it seems like it's basically about a guy who tries to run off and pursue a different future, but then gets drawn back again by loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Kind of cheesy when I summarize it like that, but they present it well. "Then the Earth shook, that was all that it took for the dream to break. All the loose ends would surround me again in the shape of your face."
...
And then after that... well, you know, I thought Radiohead was great at instrumental freakouts but this just takes it to a whole new- OK no I generally like Radiohead's more, but this is still pretty fucking good. Folksy instruments don't generally lend themselves to that sort of thing, making this all the more impressive. Also, since I think I've listened to this album often enough I think I can safely rank it
