Oh hey, Spiritualized is also a good band



What is it with these depressed sounding "doo doo"s these days? Well, whatever. So I guess this song is about a not particularly great relationship that the singer can't bring himself to break himself out of. Obviously not a completely unique topic, but hey it has a unique enough delivery. This is far from the most depressing song off of this album, but I do find it pretty interesting musically. It starts out kind of quirky instrumental wise, and then at the end we have one of my favorite things, the instrumental freakout. It seems like the "doo doo"s at the end represent the last piece of sanity he can hold onto as he plunges further down. Unfortunately, that one remaining piece of sanity is shallow and meaningless. IDK, maybe they just thought it sounded cool. Who the fuck knows? Either way, good stuff, good stuff.
