8. All the tests. I agree that children should be able to learn and retain and be able to give the answers needed for certain questions. However, the current system of tests forces the child to memorize these things, not learn them. It's easier to memorize these things rather to learn them. It's faster for the teacher and for the child and allows to get onto the next topic of a subject, or onto another subject. However, making children remember things is less effective than having the children learn them. When you learn something, there's no chance of forgetting it. There's the occasional "It's on the tip of my tongue" but when you learn something, there's no "I forgot". When you forget something, that has to deal with memory. Public schools are doing a great job with what they have, I've said this before. That being said, the current system doesn't allow much for learning, and rather forces the children to memorize subject matter.

Also, humans and animals alike are hardwired to learn through mainly experience. Just like how cats and dogs and lions learn how to fight through play fighting with their brothers and sisters, humans are also hardwired to learn through experience, which is why I think you learn more through Youtube than through school. You're entertained while you learn things, like with Horrible Histories, Crash Course, etc. Playing is one of nature's many ways of teaching us.
