Note - The following is false, but stories are still awesome.

The Minnesotan Empire had its roots in 1143 when the vikings settled in modern day Minnesota. It was a great spot because the vikings were already used to the ice cold, and the livestock they brought had a use. By 1145 the Minnesotan settlement was established. However, in 1206 the Swedish government said that the vikings must return to defend their homeland. It wasn't their homeland though, as the vikings that were alive at the time were born and raised within the Minnesotan settlement. From 1209 to 1228 the Minnesotan war was fought. But because Sweden was fighting another war, Sweden declared Minnesota was its own entity in 1211. The reason why it wasn't until 17 years later the message had been reached was because in 1212, the first ship sunk because of a nearby enemy ship. In 1219, when Sweden had enough money to send another ship, it had an accident and sunk in the middle of the Atlantic. It wasn't until 1228 when a ship was able to successfully send the news of Minnesota's independence. The settlement was no bigger than a small town, but it had its own king, parliament, and taxes. The first king (King Kafaldor) expanded the settlement. it was about half the size of modern day Minnesota by the time he died in battle in 1233. His son, King Kafaldor II expanded Minnesota to the west to the eastern border of modern day Montana, and east to Lake Michigan. Then for 100 long years, and 3 kings nothing happened. Kafaldor II died due to pneumonia, King Fredrick was assassinated by his brother, King Treythar. There are your three kings. Next time, we'll discuss their northern expansion and trouble expanding south.
