I can do it too (no legends). Tomorrow I'll do Gen II
GEN I
10. Gyarados - The original monster. Gyarados is a big badass sea serpent with killer stats and a great movepool. I always bought that Magikarp for $500 and was never disappointed The only downside to Gyarados is his typing; Water/Flying. I mean WTF, double weak to Electric? No thanks. They even gave him a badass mega this gen (which looks exactly the same and isn't even a Dragon) but we still love Gyarados.
9. Scyther - Scyther was a motherfucking badass with those blade arms. He's like a flying paper-shredder of death! Even his name reeks of death and destruction; Scyther I mean how fucking metal is that? Gamefreak must have known as in Gen II Scyther evolved into a crimson steel beast. Fuck you Pinsir, Scyther all the way.
8. Vaporeon - Fuck Scraggy, Vaporeon FTW! Out of all the Eeveelutions, I think Vaporeon is the best designed. Jolteon is just a yellow ball of spikes and they just made Faleon an orange Eevee dressed up in your grandma's winter clothes. Vaporeon's design is really creative and its stats are really good as well. Unlike another defensive Eeveelution (*cough* Umbreon *cough*), Vaporeon actually has a usable learnest and can get great TMs. Vaporeon also has a killer Special Attack stat so it can survive hits while also dishing out some damage.
7. Charizard - Is Charizard overrated? Yes. Does Charizard gain more love and attention than he deserves? Yes. Does that mean I hate him? Hell no. Charmander was always my favourite Kanto starter, even when I was denying it and saying that Squirtle was the best, I knew deep down that I really did like Charmander. I only accepted my love for Charizard after playing through Pokemon X and picking Charmander. I mean, Charizard is a freaking fire-breathing dragon (I don't care if he's part Flying and has a terrible Rock weakness, Charizard was obviously based on the European dragon). Charizard was even a badass in the anime, being arguably Ash's best Pokémon to date, even surpassing Pikachu. When Gen VI rolled around Charizard got not one but two awesome MEvos which are both hella sweet. You may be overrated, but you're liked for a reason Charizard.
6. Gengar - Oh snap, Gengar's only number six. Yes, Gengar is an incredibly cool Pokémon who is blazingly fast and can hit incredibly hard and was the only Ghost type introduced in Gen I (not counting his other evolutionary relatives). However, I don't like Gengar's design as much as some other people. Don't get me wrong, that grin is menacing as hell, but, I dunno, there's something about him I don't like. Maybe because after seeing that Gengar/Clefable theory I always see that pink douchebag whenever I look at Gengar. Anyway, Gengar's MEvo is also incredibly cool (despite having a pretty crappy design IMO). Also, can somebody please tell me why Gengar is part Poison? Is it just because he's made of gas? Because I don't get it.
5. Aerodactyl - The. Greatest. Fossil. EVER! Aerodactyl is an incredibly powerhouse, a prehistoric beast with incredible Speed, Attack and design. I always liked Aerodactyl but I never considered him one of my favourites. That was until I got one in Pokémon X. My Aerodactyl destroyed EVERYTHING in its path with Stone Edge and Earthquake. It hit even harder when Mega Evolved and gained that sweet-ass goatee. Aerodactyl is hands down my favourite Rock type and a kick-ass Pokémon.
4. Dragonair - Yes, I like Dragonair more than Dragonite. Don't get me wrong, I love Dragonite as a Pokémon, but Dragonair is just so beautiful and majestic. It's design is so slender and serpentine that I couldn't help but fall in love with it. I was a bit disappointed when Dragonair lost its grace and elegance upon evolution and I'm still hoping for a more serpentine alternate evolution for it.
3. Alakazam - Once the most powerful and OP Pokémon in the entire game bar Mewtwo, Alakazam is still a force to be reckoned with. Although Psychic doesn't dominate the metagame as it once did, Alakazam is still one of the most powerful Pokémon in the OU tier. In Gen VI, Alakazam got even more love (and a facial hair upgrade) when he got a sage-like MEvo. All in all, Alakazam continues to be a fan favourite today.
2. Arcanine - Kickass stats and a fantastic movepool, along with a brilliant design, Arcanine is one of my favourite Fire types. It's a freaking lion dog tiger, what's not to like? Arcanine was the most powerful Pokémon in my Black 2 team and can learn many incredible moves such as ExtremeSpeed, Flare Blitz, Wild Charge and even Outrage. It's not hard to see why this beast was originally the master of the three legendary birds.
1. Vulpix/Ninetales - VULPIXISTHEMOSTADORABLETHINGEVEROMGSQUEEE! I always loved Vulpix and Ninetales as soon as I set my eyes on them. Ninetales is one of the most gorgeous and elegant Pokémon there is and Vulpix is sooo cute! Not only that, but the mythology and lore behind Ninetales is incredibly rich, I'm surprised it isn't part Ghost type! I love everything about these two from their designs to their movepools. Hell, Ninetales even gets some play in OU thanks to Drought, too bad Mega Charizard Y gets Drought as well. Oh well, I'll still always love these two.
