Comments on Original Works
I know I'm not on too much anymore, but I've noticed a constant problem. I know for a fact a lot of people here have posted original work, whether it's a fan made rap battle or a fan fiction, a song or art. However, the common thread is that they don't get the feedback they deserve. When I first joined the forum back in early 2012 everyone commented on everyone's thread. Over time we lost this connection, and I'm willing to bet that's what resulted in the decrease of original work. If you're not receiving compliments or constructive criticism then how can you write with passion? And because of this I came up with an obvious answer that has stared us in the face, but we never acknowledged it:
Incentives.
I was thinking maybe by posting genuine comments on the work of another person you might receive say more rep points or a wider range of color choices. I don't know, I'm just spitballing. But I think with Rob or Dion, this idea can be improved. You two have done wonders before so I doubt adding forum features or holding some sort of incentive system would be a problem for you. I'm the guy with the idea, you're the guys with the input, knowledge, and ability.
I know it will take time. At first our feedback may seem robotic and forced, but after a while it may become second nature. I'm honestly sure we can light the spark of inspiration again. I'm serious when I say that I want your input on this Dion, whether it's approval or disapproval. I'm willing to hear any and all suggestions from you. Coming back to this forum from nearly a year of inactivity, I have an outside perspective. With all due respect this forum is dull. All the members are just chugging on and aren't putting 110% in order to lift the spirits. Anyway, that's all I have to say.
