ERBoH.com's Redemption Policy

Just a preview of a new policy that the Staff is going to try out, in a trial-run.

A member that has been given a permanent ban may, after six months of ban-time, request a repeal of said ban. The Mod staff would then discuss this member, their offenses, and what risk they could bring to the forum, and then discuss, with the member in a group, their repeal. At the end of this step, if the repeal is passed on, the member will enter a trial phase of four weeks, where they will be put into a Redemption usergroup. They will be allowed back into the forum, with limited access, as follows:

First week: The member will not be able to send Private Messages, will not have chat access, and will need forum posts approved.
Second week: The member will gain the ability to send Private Messages.
Third week: The member will gain chat access.
Fourth week: The member will be able to post freely, without approval.

If at any time during this period, the Staff feels that the member is not suitable for a ban repeal, they will have their access to the forum revoked, and will gain a permanent ban, once again. If they finish their Redemption period, with no issue, they will gain full membership status again.

As a personal note, I'd like to emphasize that, while these members have committed offenses, and suffered bans for them, they are willing to change and have earned a second chance. I ask that you all respect this, and leave your personal bias out of how you treat them. This does not give anyone an excuse to harass or incite drama with these members.

I think 6 months is a bit long. 3 or 4 would probably do.

Six months, as opposed to a permanent ban, is a time-frame that we've discussed and locked down as ideal.
Not every banned member will be given this opportunity, and so this allows us the perfect amount of time to both let the situation and member simmer, while allowing us to gauge what happens (I.e banned members making doubles or troll posting in Personal Support)

I understand, I just think 6 months is a lengthy period. They more than likely would have lost interest in here by then, and wouldn't even be aware of the redemption period.

Trust me, there are members who have been banned longer than that, that are still doing something to keep themselves relevant to us, as a forum (Like posting in the PS section).
We're going to retroactively discuss past bans, as well, and seek those who we feel are deserving of this chance, and contact them about it.

Seems perfect to me.

This is really a great idea
I second the idea for infraction, except for the worsts one such as extreme bullying or stuff like that

Without going into any detail on the matter, I can say that the Staff as a whole is going to be discussing and reworking infractions.
