Now we just need SBS' character (pls make it a serious one), a Mayor (very important) a hunter (Brine) and the beast (Ranger)
Can i still join?
Sure thing, you can either create a Mayor character, a Town Guard character, or if you're feeling creative, any role that might be found in a Medieval Town (except Village Idiot and Town Drunk, one is enough of those).
Also no OP magic.
p.s. You can be a pet if you want (dog, cat, eagle, turtle, etc.)
reserve me a major.

He is willing to help those who are in need, Sometimes may be a bit naive to "adult" things as he was taught to be as pure as possible, He believes in that everything should be done with grace and proper manner.
Backstory: As a young kid, he was trained by his father and his grandfather, His family came from a long line of monks and priests throughout the generations, Their family is loyal to the village as the village is loyal to them, They give protection to the people, pray for good harvest, heal the sick and they only ask respect in return.

Name: Travis Parker
Appearance: So, Travis is a somewhat tall guy (only 180cm/5'11'' tho) with no hair, and slightly bluish grey eyes. Above his right ear is a scar he got back in the military. He usually tries to cover it with a helmet of some sort. He's about late 50-ish or so.
Why your character is/became the role he is: See, he exposed the previous mayor's corruption. People got angry, and since the mayor was screwing the village's guards over too, they turned against him as well. The only problem was that there was no one to replace him. The village without its leader has fallen into disarray, and the major goons decided to exploit it.
Then, Parker proved to people he's a great commander. Despite guards being rather unequipped thanks to the previous mayor's lack of care, he managed to lead them to victory. In gratitude, he was chosen to be the mayor. And guess what, he's doing kinda well so far.
Personality: He has a great sense of justice, and gets pretty pissed off when someone tries to make a bitch out of it. With some mental effort, he's capable of being calm and collected, but mostly, he's just hammy, and inspiring people to do the right thing, ya know. Not afraid to go into the field, but at least that little bit smart enough to stay in the back. His body is not what it used to be after all.
Backstory: Well, Travis is not really from here. He served as an officer for a long time for the king himself. He played a part in every major war, motivating people to fight. After his eventful and successful service, the kind king decided to reward Parker with a plot of land in a random village, and enough money to live of it to the end of his days.
It turned to be the OC Village.
Then he noticed the previous mayor was a fucking prick. He noticed the previous mayor was in cahoots with some local raiders. They robbed the caravans on the nearby trade route and shared profits, he focused the guards attention somewhere else and ensued their equipment would put them at disadvantage with his (more numerous) goons.
Of course, Travis looked at that and noticed it's bullshit.
He managed to prove the mayor's vile actions (he also sacrificed some of his own money in the process), and the rest is history.
Qualities:Travis is a great military commander. He's capable of spotting flaws in enemy's formation, weaknesses in their tactics, and advantages and disadvantages provided by the terrain. He can use that knowledge to form a plan of attack, or to fortify the defenses. That somewhat aids him as a mayor, if there's a need to fend off some bandits, or if the village's defenses just suck .
Of course, that alone does not win wars. The army is full of nutjobs, conflicts, and plain douchebags. As a leader, Parker had to ensure his subordinates would not kill each other. The soldiers remember him as a mixture of father to his men, kind but stern, and that crazy awesome uncle who has a lot of badass stories to share. His attitude and speaking skills helped soldiers look past their squabbles and notice there's a fucking war to win. Believe it or not, this helped a lot in the Village. In that particular aspect, leading citizens of a settlement is just like leading an army.
He can also fight, with his fists or his sword. I mean, he did not fight too much in the actual front lines, but he had to outclass several assassins. And he treats his skills kinda seriously. He wouldn't really expect soldiers to respect him, if he could not stand up and fight...or at least defend.
Defects/Faults: His body is past his prime. Sure, he constantly trains to keep his body in great shape for his age, but at this stage, his body can act up sometimes. And he sometimes forgets about it.
Ranger's fucked
EDIT: If Brine doesn't show signs of life, I can open up the Hunter, since it's an important role
What role is there for me to pick
My knowledge of medieval villages are severely lacking
can my butcher be russian
You can be a plague doctor.
I will. I'll be butcher unless you say I can be hunter right now GO!
Name: Jeremiah Gleeson
Appearance: Long black hair shaggy hair that covers his face, including his missing eye. Small for his age, which is 32. He does have the average strength for a 32 year old however, and is also really quick. One dark brown eye, and a scar across his pale white right cheek. Basically, Karl Urban with shaggy black hair and pale white skin.
Why your character is/became the role he is: It's what he was raised to do.
Personality: Not really a loner, but very quiet. Will attend any meeting or ceremony, but remains silent unless spoken directly too. Even then its short answers. Always thinking. Not a mean or rude person, but very logical, not quite cynical. Knows what must be done, and will do it, regardless of who he may hurt in the process, even if it hurts himself. Again, not cynical or emotionless, just logical. Has what we would call street-smarts, but is also very intelligent. Doesn't believe in gods or the paranormal unless hard evidence.
Backstory:
Jeremiah Gleeson was taught how to skin a fish at the age of 4.
At the age of 9 he killed his first deer by sneaking up on it and stabbing it through the heart.
At the age of 14 he had mastered the art of the archery.
At age 15 he tracked and killed a bear that attacked his neighbor.
At age 18 his father was killed and his mother, sister, and little brother were molested and beaten to death by a group of 12 men.
At age 18 he slit the throats of 12 men in their sleep.
He now lives on his own in a village somewhere.
Qualities: Brave, Intimidating, cunning, intelligent, while he has average strength, he can move very quickly. Skilled with a bow. Knows the area. Great tracker.
Defects/Faults: Intimidating can also be his defect. Frightens most people with his appearance. Missing an eye. Little faith in paranormal things, such as a Beast perhaps.
Hunter
I'm OK with it
Once Brine and Ranger do their stuff, we might start
Name: Larkson
Appearance: Wears brown hat, shirt, and pants, but never wears shoes
Why your character is/became the role he is: Larkson trained his body so that his senses other than sight became perfect, kinda like how Daredevil and Toph did, however, with one advantage: Larkson keeps his eyes closed during the day, so he can see very well at night. Using his senses, he became an amazing tracker and an amazing counter-fighter.
Personality: Extremely stoic, but if angered to a certain point, will snap and go into an unstoppable rage against friend or foe.
Backstory: Larkson started as the child of normal family, but he didn't start training himself until he got his eyelids sealed. Once the crusty crap came off, he continued to keep his eyes closed in the day, preferring to hone his senses. Years later, he proved how well of a tracker he was by finding a lost child in a system of caves. Since then, he's always done an amazing job tracking anything.
Qualities: Has heightened senses, especially his senses of touch and hearing.
Defects/Faults: Has heightened senses, so is more sensitive to sounds and smells. Is blinded if he opens his eyes in the day.
The Night
I remember the night I arrived to O'Cleathe Village, deep in Northern Ireland. The guard barely let me in. He was a short but burly fellow, and his eyes pierced right through me. Once I convinced him I was a mere traveler, I made me way to the Inn. The night was ruthless. The cold air hit me face harder than Uncle Sean hit the bottle after church. I checked the notice in front of the pub.
"Open! Come in, friend! - Gavlan"
What a friendly little village, I thought, and I entered with a big smile.
Galvan: Ah, a traveler! Take a seat, my friend! What can I get you?
Traveler: Uhh, a stout, if it fits yer fancy.
Galvan whipped out a tankard, and placed it in front of the traveler: So, where are you from, stranger?
*BURP*
The Traveler turned around, and saw a Random Hobo sitting at a table, with 10 empty tankards next to him.
Traveler: You scared the feck out of me!
Hobo: DON'T TRUST THE SYSTEM!
???: BECAUSE THE OLD 'UNS GONNA GETCHYA!
Hobo: HAHA!
???: SODA! GIMME SODA!
Another man, who looked like the hobo but was wearing a tuxedo, entered the bar.
Galvan: The one at the table's the Hobo, the town drunk. He was a respectable man, but that's what booze'll do to you. The one that just walked in is the Village Idiot, but he calls himself... *sigh* Toaster Spank Perplexing Wanker...
Traveler: What the feck? What kind of shite name is that?
Galvan: Beats me. Oh, look, that's the person that took the Idiot in and feeds and clothes him.
Aunt Hetty: Hello, dearies! How are you tonight? Oh, you must be new here!
Traveler: Yes, my name is..
Hobo: FIGHT THE POWER
The Traveler turned around, and gave Hobo a death-stare.
Aunt Hetty: Oh, don't mind them *giggles*. A tea, please, Gavlan!
Galvan grabbed a tea-cup, and filled it with boiling water.
???: OH HI THERE YOU MUST BE NEW AROUND HERE?
Traveler sighed, then he turned around. There was a winged anime girl in bikini, that threw herself at him. Literally. Slypha hugged him.
Slypha: WELCOME TO OUR VILLAGE :3 enjoy your stay, okay?
Traveler: Ye, lass, sure, but -
The door opened. A tall, strong-looking man, with a blindfold over his eyes, and a smaller man, with shaggy dark hair, walked in, placing a dead hare on a table.
Galvan: Larkson, Gleeson, don't bring that stuff in here!
He turned to the Traveler.
Galvan: The tracker, Larkson, and the hunter, Gleeson. They keep this village up and running.
Larkson and Gleeson sat at a table, quietly. Almost unnoticed, Hibiki, the monk, sat with them. He smiled at the Traveler.
Traveler: He seems like a nice fella!
Galvan: He is! One of the nicest I've seen. So, this is all of our village, except for Jericho, who's standing guard (I'm sure you've run into him), Loafa Bred, who god knows where he is, and our Mayor, Parker. Speak of the devil..
Travis Parker walked into the bar. He had a grim look on his face.
Parker: Everyone. I've received word from the King. Someone... bought the village.
Galvan: W-What?!
Hobo: THE COMMIES!
Gleeson: Who was it?
Parker: I don't know. Someone from a wealthy family.
Parker took a glimpse of the Traveler.
Parker: Who is THIS?
Galvan: I don't think he mentioned his name.
Sylpha: ... But he's ok!
The Traveler got up from the chair, and extended his hand towards Parker.
Parker grabbed his hand, and looked him dead in the eyes.
Parker: Your arrival here is inappropriate and too coincidental for my taste.
Hibiki: No need to look for culprits, Travis..
Parker was silent. Everyone was.. for that matter.
The door slammed open, and everyone jumped.
Loafa Bred: EY, MAH FRIENDS!
Everyone turned around and stared at him. No one knew what to say.
Loafa Bred: What? This a bar or a funeral?
Aunt Hetty: Someone.. bought our village, Bred.
Loafa Bred: Santa Maria, this-a why you all so gloomy?
Parker let go of Traveler.
Parker: Let's all sit at the big table. All of us.
Everyone moved over to a table surrounded by 12 chairs. The Traveler sat down, as well.
Galvan: So.. what do we do?
Parker: First of all.. GOD DAMMIT! Where's Jericho?
"...is a forfeit?”
“Sure.”
“You’re on.”
Jericho opened his eyes. He fell asleep on the job. He was hungry. He was woken up by the sound of two men talking, but he couldn't find out where they were. Jericho sighed, then went into the village, and closed the gate.
He walked to the pub, and never looked back.
To be continued...
Holy shit, What a way to start!
*grins, making sure to look extra evil while doing so*
I like where this is going! I'll be sure to use any deducing skills to solve this mystery!
You seem to have captured every character perfectly.
And boy is the Traveler in for a shock when he finds out Slyph is actually a badass blacksmith. XD
You've really outdone yourself! :)
DON'T WORRY GUYS I'LL SHOW THAT BEAST MY DICK AND HE'LL PROBABLY DIE FROM THAT PROBABLY!
I'm hyped.
Can someone do an Analysis? Pretty please?
(Just of the Village guys, of course)
Toaster Spank Excited Wanker
I feel like I can tell you this. I should point out that...you have no idea what I put down in my PM. Yes, I put the Beast's stats...but what else? I may have put imagined scenes for them. I could have suggested diversions, to distract from the true Beast. Basically...you're potentially facing off against the combined mind process of Ranger and Turtle. Are you sure everything will be as it appears to you?
But then again, potentially. Maybe I'm just bluffing. :-)
Probably put in "Ranger's mam"
I'll do it when I get home later today if no one else wants to :3
