Epic Rap Battle Tournament

Yo, I want to have a tournament for epic rap battles. If you would like to participate, leave a reply. I'll close registration in one week, on the 10th, so make sure to tell everyone you know about this here tournament. Also, if you are going to sign up, leave the times of day (Along with your Time Zone) that you are most available.

Before we start taking names, here are going to be the rules and format.

-The Tournament will be a standard bracket.

-Battles will take place in special threads dedicated to them.

-Battles will last 1-hour; 15 minutes per turn, two turns per side.

-You can enter with a partner as a team. It'll be just like the ERB's, one of you has the first turn, the other has the second. Decide amongst yourself who goes first (On your team).

-There is a Line limit: No longer than 16 lines per turn.

-This is a Double Elimination Tournament: There will be a losers bracket, meaning that you're eliminated only when you lose two matches.

-I will determine who goes first. ERBoH will determine who goes first in battles I participate in.

-Winners will also be determined by me... kidding. Winners will be determined by poll.

-Grand Finals (Winner of Losers Bracket VS Winner of Winners Bracket) will last 2 hours, with 4 turns per competitor.

-Follow the rules, or you forfeit the match you were participating in. There will be one warning, and a 1 min margin for error with the time limit.

I couldn't contact SaneButStrange for his/her available times, but we can't wait forever. His matches start Monday at 7:00 Eastern Time, and SaneButStrange has until then to get me their available times, if he/she has times that don't go with that time.

Is there any specific times you can't do it, or are you open whenever? I need this information when setting up the matches.

Monday- Wed.- I'm open at about 6:00. Thursday- 6:30. Fri- 3:30. I'm open fully on weekends. Every day I cannot do it past 9:30.

Sounds cool, but I don't work that well under a time limit. My motto is you can't rush perfection.

Do you ever see people doing free style rap battles with long time limits? Nah... That's the type of game this is. If enough people dislike the time limit, I can extend it a bit, but that's it. So are you entering or not?

Yes, I have seen them, and they are good at what they do, but then again, so am I. I'm more a Writer than a Rapper, but when I do write a rap, you can be sure it is always my best. But seeing as how you're new here, you'll find that out soon enough.

I don't think he was saying you were a bad rapper or writer.
Its just that in order for the tournament to flow nicely, we need people to be on at the same time so they can make the raps against each other.
I'm sure you could still write some awesome lines in 15 minutes SWJ ;)

Your little rap spoiler tag thing was quite nice. I'm a writer as well, and I try my best at as many different exercises as I can. Writing under restrictions is the best way to get better and see your own shortcomings. With that in mind, I hope you'll enter. You have the week to decide, so take your time.

I forgot one of the rules. It's up there now. Basically, two people can enter as a team if they wish. Anyone who has already entered may still team up with another rapper.

Also, I kinda thought a few more people would have spoken up immediately. With that crazy "You vs The Person Above You" thread, I thought there would be people shooting up left and right.

We have eight people competing. So I think the bracket will work out very nicely.

Yup yup! Registration is closed, officially. I have the brackets ready, and the tournament will start after I send all entrants PM's asking for available times, and then their battle times.

My time zone is DST.
I am available on Mondays and Thursdays.
Anytime between 4:00 and 9:30

I don't know what forum means, but it will basically be the "You vs the person above you" but with structure, a time limit, rules, and a winner.
