CHOOSING THE BATTLE

Right after we uploaded Drifblim vs. Wigglytuff, this battle was beginning to take full form. I had the idea to do Beedrill vs. Excadrill. We knew from the start that I would be Beedrill and Spike would be Excadrill.
If you look closely, there’s a pattern in most of the battles. I’ll play the Pokemon from older generations, while Spike will work on the later generation Pokemon.
Drifblim vs. Wigglytuff was a bit on the shorter side for a Season Premiere. This battle had to be “balls to tha motha-fuckin walls”.

RESEARCHING THE BATTLE

Battles are hard to make. Goddamn.
When we make a battle, we need 2-3 days to research. This battle took about 10 days to research. We like to draft lines for the battle before the writing process.
The drafting process is the hardest part of making the battle. Zoroark and I were scrapping lines to and fro! It was intense!

It took so much time to draft this fucker! So long! Spike agrees with me!

WRITING THE BATTLE

We’ve been slow this season in terms of punching bananas.

The writing process is hard when making the battle because it requires a lot of screaming. As an Exploud, people think I scream all the time. But usually, I’m very calm and quiet. It’s only during the recording and writing that I really scream.

Writing is no laughing matter.

RECORDING THE BATTLE

This part is easy! We record like MADMEN!!

My name is Onix. I work the Boom Mic. What I do is tape the microphone to my forehead, and just lean towards the character who’s on the green screen.

I’ll never forget the time when we filmed an entire character’s verses, and Onix forgot to turn the Boom Mic on!

Blastoise is our director. He’s a great help to the crew. He makes sure that we don’t fuck up during a shot.

[Alright Zoroark! Are you ready to record?]

[Why?]

[Maybe because I’m dressed up as a fucking Beedrill.]

I’m Vileplume and I’m the camera man…that’s pretty much it.

Vileplume is an interesting member of our team. He’s very “to the point”. He says what’s on his mind. Never goes into full detail. Strange.

EDITING/ORGANIZING THE BATTLE

While Zoroark edits the battle, I usually work on the banner. This battle’s banner’s a bit interesting. Usually we have a simple banner. This season’s banner colour is green. Last season had red banners.

Organizing the battle is harder than it looks! Whenever I copy and paste from my private messages, the font is size 7.5! So I have to fucking change it! AAAAAAAAHHHH

FINAL STAGES OF THE BATTLE

Once the editing is done, we enter the final stages of editing. This part’s not too hard, we usually just decide who’s picking the next battle, who’s uploading the current one, and we make sure it’s upload-ready!

WHAT’S NEXT?!

Once the battle’s upload-ready, we decide on the next battle. We don’t want to give too much info away on the next one, but it MAY have a guest star in it. Just to let you know.
