Introduction
Billy awoke to the sound of gunfire as a bullet rushed right past his eyes, he swore he could see it spinning as it whizzed by his head slamming into the helmet of a man behind him covered from head to toe in body armor and carrying what looked like a modified assault rifle, the bullet smashed through the helmet’s visor cracking it open and burrowing its way deep into the man’s skull killing him as the inside of the helmet was splattered with bloody brain goo.
“WHAT! THE! FUCK!” Billy shouted, freaking out as a guy with long curly brown hair covering his eyes and flowing down over his ears and neck tackled him to the ground.
“GET DOWN YOU FUCKING IDIOT!” the guy screamed as they smashed into the rocky, terrain a green blast of plasma flying over their heads. “I’m Nate, but here I am known as Dragonite. Pleasure to meet you, according to my HUD your…Epic Doctor X?”
“That’s my screen name my real name is Billy. Where the hell am I?” Billy asked, in a state of both shock and fear, practically paralyzed. Nate helped him up propping him up behind a barricade.
“Welcome to Halo. You passed the test, you’re a game jumper,” Nate said smiling and handing him an Assault Rifle.
“Halo? Like the video game? Damn this is a weird dream,” Billy said calming down a little bit.
“This is no dream kid, these video games, they aren’t as fake as you think. You passed the test, you’re a game jumper. There’s no time to explain here, the Covenant are making a push for the mountain pass and if I don’t get down there Chi Bee is going to be in some hot water. We need to get you to Super Rapz he’s the only one who can explain.”
“Who?”
“Our leader, he’s in charge of the game jumpers,” Nate clicked on his radio. “Spartica I need a Pelican inbound for transport. We got a new recruit here and he needs to see Mason, like now.”
“Roger dodger,” the radio cackled barely audible. “Pelican inbound, coordinates locked, but I’m coming in hot so get that noob ready.”
Nate grabbed Billy and dragged him across the battlefield to the landing zone. In the sky a Pelican flew around the mountain ledge with two Banshees in close pursuit, Spartica masterfully flung the Pelican sideways and darted through a very narrow opening between two rock ledges as one Banshee smashed into the rock wall erupting in fire and debris as it exploded in midair. The last Banshee locked on as Spartica tried to lose it with quick steady maneuvers but couldn’t dodge. The Banshee began charging its cannon as Nate radioed Spartica.
“This is going to sound crazy but bring the Pelican in for a landing with the Banshee on you.”
“Are you crazy Nate, they’ll kill me as I land,” Spartica said adrenaline pulsing through his body.
“Just fucking trust me.”
Spartica sighed bringing the Pelican nose down for a quick landing, as he began descending towards the LZ Nate started running across from one end of the LZ to the other where the Pelican would land, Spartica began to level off the Pelican as it reached closer and closer to ground level, when it was within range of the ground Nate reached it and jumped onto the cockpit, running across the length of the Pelican, and leaping again into midair, and towards the approaching Banshee. He soared underneath the cockpit of the Banshee, firing his assault rifle through the prone Covenant aviator tearing flesh from bone as blood stained the cockpit, the Banshee quickly spiraled out of control as the pilot dropped from the air smashing into the Pelican’s hull below, still in midair Nate grabbed the top of the Banshee which had spiraled and dropped beneath him as both objects plummeted towards the Earth, he entered the cockpit grabbing hold of the controls as the Banshee neared the ground and quickly corrected the spiral landing the flying machine next to the Pelican with a very rough but stable thud! A piece of the left thruster fell off as the cockpit dug into the Earth, but everyone was in one piece and so was the Pelican.
“ARE YOU FUCKING CRAZY!” Spartica said over the radio as Nate walked over to a wide eyed, and clearly stunned Billy. He just stared mouth gaping as Nate placed his hand over the rookie’s shoulders and led him over to the Pelican helping him into the back.
“Get used to it kid, your one of us now, so you better get used to it” Nate said with a smile, closing the rear hatch to the Pelican. As the hatch closed he added, “and don’t worry, we were all new once.”
“Next stop, the war room,” Spartica said cheerily as the Pelican took off. “Buckle up rook.”[/center:1ur4hb7p][/spoiler:1ur4hb7p]
