Re: HipsterSamuel reviews
Here's SaneButStrange's First Diss Rap. Next is Terminator vs. Robocop.
[spoiler:22w58g3g]Intro: This isn’t a very long intro, so there isn’t much room for jokes, but the jokes it does attempt work really well. I thought the Skrillex thing was hilarious. 8/10
Beat: The beat is certainly different from any other dis rap beats. It seems a bit too light-hearted for a dis rap, but I can imagine it going with the lyrics. 7/10
Dis Rap: The first half of the dis rap is OK, but near the end starting at the Error 404 line it really picks up. The best line is that last line. 8/10
Total Score: 23/30[/spoiler:22w58g3g]

Re: HipsterSamuel reviews
Here's my review of Rick Grimes' Terminator vs. Robocop. Next is Betty White vs. Superman.
[spoiler:2f1vf4dz]Robocop: His 1st verse has some very good lines, like the heavy line, the bath tub line and the John Connor line. His 2nd verse has some lines with potential that aren’t executed well. 15.5/20
Terminator: The 80’s toys line and garbage can in the 1st verse are alright. His 2nd verse feels a bit repetitive. 14.5/20
Bender: The lines directed towards Robocop are more clever than the lines directed towards Terminator. Some of his lines are good, but the lines near the end aren’t great. 15/20
Overall: This battle is probably your best one yet. Some of the lines don’t really have a point, others are great, but overall, I was pretty satisfied. 7.5/10
Final Results:
Robocop: 15.5/20
Terminator: 14.5/20
Bender: 15/20
Total Score: 52.5/70 (equivalent to 37.5/50)[/spoiler:2f1vf4dz]

The battle is Julius Caesar vs George Washington, just an FYI.

Re: HipsterSamuel reviews
Here's my review of Rick Grimes' Betty White vs. Superman. Next is Jirachi vs. Victini.
[spoiler:282fph4u]Betty White-Round 1: The beginning of the verse isn’t too impressive. It’s not until the end that she has some great lines, like the coleslaw line and the last line. 7/10
Superman-Round 1: This verse also has a slow beginning, but it picks up faster than Betty’s verse. The middle is great, but the beginning and end could be better. 7/10
Betty White-Round 2: Again, the ending is the strong point in this verse. I liked the Doctors Notice line and the line about writing. 7/10
Superman-Round 2: The lines about her age are great. This is the best verse of the battle, and it certainly earns Superman the win to me. 8/10
Overall: Some of the lines begin well, but seem to have average ends and follow-ups. I enjoyed this battle, but if every line had a good follow up and ending, it would be even better. 7.5/10
Final Results:
Betty White: 14/20
Superman: 15/20
Total Score: 36.5/50[/spoiler:282fph4u]

Re: HipsterSamuel reviews
Here's my review of Yackerz's and rangernumberx's Jirachi vs. Victini. Next is Dr. Phil vs. Oprah.
[spoiler:1hq2bs5z]Victini-Round 1: A good start with the calm mind line, the victory line and the CD-ROM line, even though it doesn’t have much to do with either pokemon. The end is great too. 8/10
Jirachi-Round 1: This verse is just as good in my opinion. The first line, Unova Dex line, Zoroark line and especially the True Eye line are all awesome. 8/10
Victini-Round 2: This is another great verse. The best lines are the Incinerate line and the Earthquake line, in my opinion. 8/10
Jirachi-Round 2: This verse just goes all out, with some really epic lines, like the Absol, Haxorous and Liberty lines. The best verse of the battle, it earns Jirachi the win. 9/10
Overall: I think this is one of the best fan made battles I’ve ever read. The references are great, the puns are great, I can’t find anything negative to say about it. 8.5/10
Final Results:
Victini: 16/20
Jirachi: 17/20
Total Score: 41.5/50[/spoiler:1hq2bs5z]

Re: HipsterSamuel reviews
Here's my review of Sparrowhelper's Dr. Phil vs. Oprah. Next is Midas vs. Medusa.
[spoiler:2h06t8gg]Oprah Winfrey-Round 1: The lines in this verse aren’t really jokes, mainly just flat out facts and opinions. I feel the lines are too obvious here. 6.5/10
Doctor Phil-Round 1: The beginning of this verse is pretty great. The rest of the verse is sort of obvious, but still funny. 7.5/10
Oprah Winfrey-Round 2: Maybe I’m just not getting the jokes in this verse, but I wasn’t too impressed with this verse either. The last line is OK though. 7/10
Doctor Phil-Round 2: I love the opera line, but I’m not sure how it rhymes with anything else in the verse. Still, I find this the best verse of the battle. 8/10
Overall: A lot of the lines in this battle are too obvious. Just add some more subtlety and I think your battles would be awesome. 7.5/10
Final Results:
Oprah Winfrey: 13.5/20
Doctor Phil: 15.5/20
Total Score: 36.5/50[/spoiler:2h06t8gg]

Re: HipsterSamuel reviews
Here's my review of ZombieLicker's Midas vs. Medusa. Next is Thomas Edison vs. Nikola Tesla.
[spoiler:3hfffl00]Medusa-Round 1: This verse isn’t bad, but the references aren’t really jokes as much as they are just listing feats. I’d prefer if the references tied in with some jokes. 6.5/10
King Midas-Round 1: Some of the lines in this verse have good beginnings, but weak ends that seem like they’re just there to make it rhyme. Still, it has some funny lines. 7/10
Medusa-Round 2: This verse is a pretty big step up from the last verse. The references in this verse are more clever and the jokes are funnier. 8/10
King Midas-Round 2: The Perseus line is decent, but the rest of the verse is mainly explaining things about her instead of making jokes about her. It’s not enough for Midas to keep the lead. 6.5/10
Overall: This battle has some enjoyable lines, but it could use some work. Some of the lines seem to just be there to provide a rhyme, others aren’t really jokes, but some lines are clever. 7/10
Final Results:
Medusa: 14.5/20
King Midas: 13.5/20
Total Score: 35/50[/spoiler:3hfffl00]

Re: HipsterSamuel reviews
Here's my review of Nikola Tesla vs. Thomas Edison. Next is Julius Caesar vs. George Washington.
[spoiler:12p6x434]Beat: It’s catchy for most of the battle, but when it needs to get dramatic, it gets dramatic. This is a beat that really does its job well. 9/10
Impressions and Costumes: Nobody knows what Tesla sounded like, but I did hear a recording of Edison once, and this sounds nothing like him. Tesla’s costume is good, Edison’s looks too young. 7/10
Thomas Edison-Round 1: The first line is very clever. The verse doesn’t have a great middle, but the screw line is great, and the last line is the best of the battle, in my opinion. 8.5/10
Nikola Tesla-Round 1: It sounds cool, but lyrically, nothing in this verse really blew me away. The last few lines aren’t bad, but this verse isn’t as good as Edison’s. 8/10
Thomas Edison-Round 2: I didn’t realize how great the first line was until I saw the real lyrics. This is actually a really clever verse, with some really insulting lines and good points. 9/10
Nikola Tesla-Round 2: It’s clear they were trying to swing the battle for Tesla, but I don’t really think they succeeded. It sounds incredible, but if you analyze the lyrics, you won’t find much. 8/10
Overall: Everybody had high expectations for this, and I think it was very good. It sounds very intense overall, and while it’s not the best battle to me, it’s a very memorable one. 8.5/10
Final Results:
Thomas Edison: 17.5/20
Nikola Tesla: 16/20
Total Score: 58/70[/spoiler:12p6x434]

Re: HipsterSamuel reviews
Here's my review of Rick Grimes' Julius Caesar vs. George Washington. Next is Joseph Stalin vs. Adolf Hitler.
[spoiler:83ef42l3]George Washington-Round 1: The puns about Caesar’s name are pretty good. Some lines don’t seem to really reference anything, though. 7.5/10
Julius Caesar-Round 1: These lines focus more on insulting the USA than insulting George. Some of the insults work well, others don’t. 7/10
George Washington-Round 2: A hilarious beginning, but the rest of the verse isn’t as funny. The lines are most above average, but nothing too amazing. 7/10
Julius Caesar-Round 2: This is the best verse of the battle in my opinion. Some lines don’t really work well, but some likes, like the Cleopatra line, are pretty nice. 8/10
Overall: A good battle, but some lines still seem pointless. I’d give some advice, but from what I’ve read from your next battle, you might already have things figured out. 7.5/10
Final Results:
George Washington: 14.5/20
Julius Caesar: 15/20
Total Score: 37/50[/spoiler:83ef42l3]

Re: HipsterSamuel reviews
You know, with things rolling fast, add EFBoM #9 and #10 too.

Re: HipsterSamuel reviews
Here's my review of Rick Grimes' Joseph Stalin vs. Adolf Hitler. Next is Dracula vs. Spider-Man.
[spoiler:21ogeu94]Adolf Hitler-Round 1: This verse has some hilarious lines and puns. Some of the lines seem to fall flat, but for the most part, the lines work very well. 8.5/10
Joseph Stalin-Round 1: It’s a step down from Hitler’s first verse. It has some good lines, but most of them aren’t that clever. 7/10
Adolf Hitler-Round 2: I think the puns here are very clever. The lines in this verse are insulting, but not particularly clever. 8/10
Joseph Stalin-Round 2: This verse has an awesome beginning, but it’s not as good from that point on. Basically, my feedback for this verse is the same as Hitler’s 2nd verse. 8/10
Overall: This is an extremely well written battle. This is definitely your best battle yet, and I have a feeling these battles will be even better from now on. 8/10
Final Results:
Adolf Hitler: 16.5/20
Joseph Stalin: 15/20
Total Score: 39.5/50[/spoiler:21ogeu94]

Re: HipsterSamuel reviews
Here's my review of Rick Grimes' Dracula vs. Spider-Man. Next is Dora the Explorer vs. Lara Croft.
[spoiler:39jfcv9f]Spider-Man-Round 1: The cross line is pretty good, but after it, the verse isn’t that good. It gets better near the end though. 7.5/10
Count Dracula-Round 1: The beginning few lines are hilarious. The last line is also great, but most of what’s in between isn’t great. 7.5/10
Spider-Man-Round 2: The jokes that make fun of vampire weaknesses are pretty good. Plus, the Bram Stroker line is hilarious. 8.5/10
Count Dracula-Round 2: I think this verse is just a bit worse than Spider-Man’s last verse, but it’s still a great verse. The sex jokes get a bit repetitive, but they’re still funny. 8/10
Overall: I honestly can’t decide if I like this or your last battle better. They’ve both been very good, and I’m quite impressed with how much the battles have improved. 8/10
Final Results:
Spider-Man: 16/20
Count Dracula: 15.5/20
Total Score: 39.5/50[/spoiler:39jfcv9f]

Re: HipsterSamuel reviews
Here's my review of Rick Grimes' Dora the Explorer vs. Lara Croft. Next is Steve vs. Joe.
[spoiler:2c8407ll]Dora the Explorer-Round 1: Some of the lines at the beginning don’t really work. However, some work very well, like the references to the show. 8.5/10
Lara Croft-Round 1: There are a lot of racist jokes in this verse. Most o them are pretty funny, but it gets a bit old eventually. 8/10
Dora the Explorer-Round 2: This is a step down from her first verse. I wasn’t that impressed by any of the lines. 6.5/10
Lara Croft-Round 2: There are some good points in this verse, but they are stated rather than having jokes made about them. The racist jokes, while repetitive, are funny enough for her to win. 8/10
Overall: This verse has some lines that aren’t too clever, but some lines that are funnier than in your other battles. It’s not quite as good as your other latest battles, but it’s still funny. 7.5/10
Final Results:
Dora the Explorer: 15/20
Lara Croft: 16/20
Overall: 38.5/50[/spoiler:2c8407ll]

Re: HipsterSamuel reviews
Here's my review of sunkistluva's Steve vs. Joe. Next is Edgar Allan Poe vs. Shakespeare.
[spoiler:3ucnwu7a]Beat: It's kind of catchy, and intense in parts. It fits well with certain points in the battle, so I'd say pretty good overall. 8/10
Impressions and Costumes: Steve's costume is great, and Joe's isn't bad either. Neither characters have very distinctive voices, so not bad overall. 8.5/10
Joe-Round 1: The first few lines aren't great, but the walls line is OK. The Soap line is great, but the rest of the verse isn't that clever. 7/10
Steve-Round 1: The first line is pretty nice, and so is the clue line. Just slightly better than Joe's verse. 7.5/10
Joe-Round 2: I think at this point you just gave the battle to Steve. The lines aren't bad, but once he admits to being a worse host, it's pretty much over. 6/10
Steve-Round 2: He's not too great in the back and forth, but his last verse is pretty funny. The fast rapping was actually pretty impressive too. 8.5/10
Overall: This battle has some good moments, but it feels a bit 1-sided. I feel some lyrics are too generic, but there are enough funny lines to balance it out. 7/10
Final Results:
Joe: 13/20
Steve: 16/20
Total Score: 54/70[/spoiler:3ucnwu7a]

Re: HeroSamuel reviews
Here's my review of Sparrowhelper and Zombielicker's Edgar Allan Poe vs. Shakespeare. Next is Adele vs. Taylor Swift.
[spoiler:s09spbwd]Shakespeare-Round 1: The grace line is OK. After that, the verse isn't too great until the last line of the verse. 7/10
Edgar Allan Poe-Round 1: An awesome start, but the 2nd half of the verse just isn't as good. It still beats Shakespeare's verse though. 8/10
Shakespeare-Round 2: The 1st line is alright, the rest of the verse is average. For some reason, I don't feel this verse's last 2 lines are long enough. 7/10
Edgar Allan Poe-Round 2: The 1st line and last line are both some of the best of the battle. I think this is the best verse of the battle. 8.5/10
Overall: There are some points where it feels a line is just put in to provide a rhyme and doesn't have a reference. Try to put a reference in every line, and these battles could really take off. 7.5/10
Final Results:
Shakespeare: 14/20
Edgar Allan Poe: 16.5/20
Total Score: 38/50[/spoiler:s09spbwd]

Re: HeroSamuel reviews
Here's my review of Rick Grimes' Adele vs. Taylor Swift. Next is Renaissance Artists vs. TMNT.
[spoiler:dcs5orja]Adele: Her 1st verse has some pretty good song references, as well as other funny lines like the Hashtag line. In her 2nd verses, the song references aren’t as good, but the puns are good. 16/20
Taylor Swift: Her 1st verse isn’t as good as Adele’s, but her 2nd verse is a big step up. As funny as her 2nd verse is, Adele is overall better. 15.5/20
Kanye West: A good beginning and end, but the lines in the middle of the verse don’t seem as well thought out as the rest of the battle. He’s funny, but not too clever. 14/20
Overall: This was a pretty good battle. It had some funny lines and lots of good song references, but it’s not quite as good as some of your latest battles. 7.5/10
Final Results:
Adele: 16/20
Taylor Swift: 15.5/20
Kanye West: 14/20
Total Score: 53/70 (equivalent to 38/50)[/spoiler:dcs5orja]

Re: HeroSamuel reviews
Here's my review of Rick Grimes' Renaissance Artists vs. TMNT. Next is Babe Ruth vs. Lance Armstrong.
[spoiler:1ziene5s]The Renaissance Artists: In the 1st verse, Leonardo and Michelangelo are OK, but Raphael and Donatello help the verse immensely. In the 2nd verse, Leonardo improves, but that’s about it. 16/20
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Mona Lisa line is pretty good, and the penis jokes in the 1st verse are funny, but they get old. While their 1st verse is good, their 2nd verse really pulls them over the top. 16.5/20
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Blue and Pink Power Rangers are funny, but the rest of the verse isn’t as good. It’s just not as well thought out as the other 2 groups. 14.5/20
Overall: I believe this is possibly your best battle of Season 1. The jokes are funny, and even though it’s very long, it doesn’t get boring, and is entertaining the whole time. 8.5/10
Final Results:
The Renaissance Artists: 16/20
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: 16.5/20
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: 14.5/20
Total Score: 55.5/70 (equivalent to 39.5/50)[/spoiler:1ziene5s]

Re: HeroSamuel reviews
Here's my review of Babe Ruth vs. Lance Armstrong. Next is Catwoman vs. Rouge the Bat.
[spoiler:1wautzls]Beat: This is arguably the most intense beat ERB has ever had. This is the heart of the battle, it gets you excited and ready for something epic. 9/10
Impressions and Costumes: The costumes are both just about perfect. As for the impressions, Peter just sounds like Peter, and I’m not sure why they had Babe Ruth sound like what he did, even though it is entertaining. 7/10
Lance Armstrong-Round 1: The beginning few lines are very clever and funny. After the beginning though, the only really funny line was the French line. 8.5/10
Babe Ruth-Round 1: Everybody seems to love Ruth’s 2nd verse, but I think his 1st verse is better. Just about every other line is absolutely awesome. I didn’t get the bracelet line until the day after I saw the battle. Either way, a fantastic verse. 9.5/10
Lance Armstrong-Round 2: This verse sounds really awesome, but the only really clever lines in it are the pasta contest line and the foul tipping line. It gets extra points for sounding awesome, but I feel it’s a bit of a step down. 8/10
Babe Ruth-Round 2: Even though I said his 1st verse was better, this was a fantastic verse anyway. I feel like I’m watching a baseball game during this verse, and I don’t even watch much baseball, so this is very impressive. 9/10
Overall: It does bug me that they didn’t really think about how other countries would like this battle, but that’s my only complaint. This is 1 of my favorite battles, it just feels epic. 9/10
Final Results:
Lance Armstrong: 16.5/20
Babe Ruth: 18.5/20
Total Score: 60/70[/spoiler:1wautzls]

Re: HeroSamuel reviews
Here's my review of Pinkamena Diane Pie's Catwoman vs. Rouge the Bat. Next is Voltaire vs. Aurelio Voltaire.
[spoiler:3oij1v9l]Catwoman-Round 1: This verse has lots of clever and funny puns. I’d expect for them all to involve cats, but the puns instead have variety, which is great. 8/10
Rouge the Bat-Round 1: The verse isn’t too good in the beginning, but it gets better around the Rotten Tomatoes line. After that, most of it is pretty nice. 7.5/10
Catwoman-Round 2: The android line is pretty good, but the rest of the verse isn’t as impressive. I just don’t find the lines as clever. 7/10
Rouge the Bat-Round 2: This is 1 of the best fan-made 2nd verse ever. It gets so much done in just a few lines and end the battle nicely. 9/10
Overall: I’ve missed reading your battles, because you know exactly what you’re doing. This battle is no exception, well done. 8.5/10
Final Results:
Catwoman: 15/20
Rouge the Bat: 16.5/20
Total Score: 40/50[/spoiler:3oij1v9l]
