Sig links like that are alright. But your posts cannot contain anything similar to this.
"Check my sig."
If it's referring to a quote or funny picture, then sure. But if it's advertising something you did, it should be against the rules.
Because the rules Rob made state "Do not advertise other forums.
Boom, there ya go. I knew that was somewhere :P.Quote:

Do not advertise without permission(must obtain permission from a mod/gm to advertise something specific)
So, get permission, and it can stay.
Updated advertising rule:
Do not advertise other forums(Youtube/facebook are ok)
I'm okay with this. I think it will make it easier for EVERYONE. Thanks Mykey!
You're welcome :).Quote:

Instant Banhammer = permabanned essentially. I just liked the name :P.Quote:

Batman, if you have 7 warnings but they're all lesser offenses you would be banned for 7 days. Does that help any?

No, it's "QFT", when you are just quoting someone for your thoughts. It's not any better if they just say "This". When someone quotes something obviously the person has nothing to add other than what the other guy said, a reiteration really.Quote:

Does this mean that if I have a serious offence and 3 warnings, I will be banned for 5 weeks or 2 weeks and 3 days?Quote:

I am moderating this topic and he had no reason to put "LOL". This thread is focused on the rules, so if he has nothing to add to them in some way, then there's no reason to make an unwanted post.
Honestly, half the posts on this site are unconstructive. But, that's the way people are.
Hey Castiel you got no response because I was offline.
Anyways you want constructive here goes. Nicely.
The rules, its a good first step but it needs some overhauling, mods are still picking and choosing who to punish and how to punish them, things are not being done fairly and people are going to still take advantage of their positions within this site, or their friendships on this site to avoid blame and punishment.
Keep the rules, they are bloody brilliant, a few could be tweaked and added but I like them. But how about we change some things, like for instance instead of just automatically banning a member, or giving a warning to one person and not the other I think we should set up a Private, court style section. Now obviously certain cases, blatant trolling, advertising ect. don't need the court but when we are talking about things like what happened recently, that needs something like this. People do not feel there voices are heard unless they MAKE their voice heard. Honestly its true nothing was done until the mods hand was forced, the problem could have been stopped numerous times there were at least 4 different GMs online at various points and yet it took a massive sitewide fight to even bring the topic into the mods heads.
Now if we had a private court section maybe this would not happen. People would feel like they could take their issues to court and actually have their opinons and facts heard and seen before a decision is made. Right now that doesnt happen and thats why certain members feel the mods don't do anything.
How would this work, if two forumers have an issue with each other one or the other or both could bring this up THROUGH PM to a mod or admin online. This mod or Admin would than begin the process. The only members who would have access to the court section would be those with the issue and a select group of UNBIASED members.
Those could include
Dion
LAWL
and a couple other trusted members. People we know will not put their personal biases into a decision. I trust Dion and LAWL to actually read and review the evidence and make a decision based on facts not personal opinions.
Both sides would have 24 - 48 hours (things need to happen quickly) to present their cases, they will than be locked out of the section while the judges deliberate, the judges will write a report and PM it to both parties and the section will be cleared so the next case can be heard.
Does this make sense? I doubt it will happen but I think it would stop a lot of problems and fix a lot of the bias this site undoubtedly has for and against certain members.
I stopped reading at the word "court".Quote:

Your constant attitude is going to end up being punished if you don't smarten up and behave like an adult.
Besides, 24-48 hours? That's way too long. The old system didn't even take things that long to decide.
Hold on a second Mykey. I saw no attitude whatsoever in that post. I have been a fan of the court system but i've been shut out by the people who don't like hearing new ideas.
I will say 24-48 hours is too long.
Yeah, I think when the two people are online and willing to talk it out, that's when the deciding happens, once somebody leaves the decision is final. If that makes sense.Quote:

Because the fact is it takes them forever to decide on things, and they don't do anything.
Look at the members who have gotten away with so much for so long, this includes myself. Look at the fact it took how many months to DECIDE on these rules that were brought up when I was still a mod.
The court system is implemented in various places, in real life and on the net. And it works. When I used to run my clans, and my gaming/movie/tv forum and blog I used the court system, on forums with triple the members here and more activity, we did it this way. And we avoided these wars, these spats, and the forumers had RESPECT for our mod staff because they knew that voices were given a chance to be heard. Even when ruled against, we showed our reasoning and our lack of bias. I have run successful sites before. I shared my opinion, maybe the mods should discuss it and actually give it a chance.
I think we did discuss this at some point.
I really am not a fan of the whole dictatorship idea. But it works, so...yeah.
It only works because nobody speaks up against it and those who do are apparently now labeled as troublemakers and threatened with bans. But I am going to speak my feelings...like I always do...just respectfully now.
And this is how I feel. You say 48 hours is too long but lets be honest. ME Vs. Brad...it took 24 hours for you to warn both of us and 48 hours for it too actually come to an end...so yeah your current system takes just as long.
Why would you not want your members to feel like their voices are heard?
