How about instead of just a colored username, you get a rank?

This way we can import groups as well.

1 - 499 = Orange/Pilot
500 - 999 = Pink/Brotherhood
1000 - 1499 = Red/Underdog
1500 - 1999 = Purple/Ninja
2000 - 2999 = Green/Havokian
3000 - 4999 = Purple/Star
5000 - 9999 = Cyan/Epic
10000 and up = Gold/Legends
Brown = Admin

And I changed it, because most active users are mods. So there would be to many reds.

But Purple > Green.

I still like the idea of unlocking a row in a color grid, so you don't have to become mute to keep a color you like.

Users should keep tabs on how many posts they have. It's up to them to message an admin about proceeding to the next rank.

If someone wants to stay at a rank, then they need to notify an admin. This will allow them to stay at the rank they want until they decide to rank up.

Someone can skip a rank if they want.

Say I'm Pilot, I want to remain Pilot, so I don't proceed. When I hit 5000 posts, I can skip the ranks in between.

I also think that people should be able to keep their color if they so wish. Building off of your point, SBS, about forumers having to tell an admin, I feel that if you want to keep your color because you like the one you have better than the one you will get, then don't message an admin.

Exactly.. the only thing I thought of is, do you think someone who is Ninja should be able to return to Pilot? I think they can if they want, but they should have to get that amount of posts again before they return.

My only issue is I think we might have (this is unofficial) reserved Gold for people that donate.

Can't we access a colour grid with different colours and moving up a rank allows you to access a wider colour grid?

How about for people who donate over $5, they will be allowed to jump to any rank they wish?
