Because chat can't be taken seriously, I thought I would post some ideas for a color unlock system for post count here, and without any arbitrary "YOUR MOM NEEDS MORE POST COUNTS" level of immaturity to it:

KEEP IN MIND, ALL POST COUNTS TO UNLOCK COLORS AND WHAT NOT ARE JUST ROUGH SUGGESTIONS FOR TIERS /caps

Obviously, a default color would be the starting color. It's, like, parsed link blue or some shit, right? Anyway, yeah, a default color.

The first set of unlocks can be a few basic colors: a bright red, a typical blue, a solid black, etc, and unlock non-linearly as you gain post count. When you get to a preset number of posts to unlock a color in this tier of unlocks, you can select one to "purchase" and then you have to get to the next preset number of posts for a new color. To give a basic example.:

First Unlock: 1000 posts: Choose Blue
Second Unlock: 1750 posts: Choose Black
Third Unlock: 2800 posts: Choose Red

And this goes on for, maybe, four or five colors before a new tier is unlocked.

The next tier, methinks, can be a few more oddball and exquisite colors:

First Unlock: 5000 Posts: Choose Silver
Second Unlock: 5950 Posts: Choose Gold
Third Unlock: 7000 Posts: Choose Magenta

And other off the wall colors, you get the idea.

Next tier should be nostalgic and call back to groups, because this is replacing groups in a sense, no?

First Unlock: 10,000 Posts: Choose Noitu Orange
Second Unlock: 11,000 Posts: Choose Alienz Cyan
Third Unlock: 12,000 Posts, Choose Yami Kage Purple

Maybe even add some discarded groups' colors in there for the hell of it. Russian Periwinkle, Industrial [I don't know what color the Industry had, new guy here], etc.

And then, a Tier of colors like the mods and what not have, but not bold, of course. Just for the hell of it.

First Unlock: 20,000 Posts: Choose Mod Blue
Second Unlock: 22,000 Posts: Choose Admin Maroon
Third Unlock: 25,000 Posts: Choose Global Mod Green

And then, even if this is impossible, add a tier of custom unlocks that goes on for a good while of posting. A color grid allows you to pick the color, and then you can use that custom color. Whether or not it should be impossible to change after choosing initially, a custom color, is debatable. Possibly, to encourage bothering to unlock more custom colors and not just dick around with the first, but not alienating the custom aspect of it, if each one gave the member more colors to nitpick from.

Moving on to another "arbitrary but fun either way" idea. Just for fun and simplicity, not in that order per se, a way to preview your name in a color, and a description for colors on the User CP, where this color menu could be. A few ideas:

[Default] Red: Primary color of standard design. It's impossible to make this color by mixing pigments.

[Default] Blue: Color of the sky, the ocean, and a lot of human eyes.

Gold: A precious metal that provides a heavy feel and shiny look.

And we could go representational with the group colors :

Yami Kage Purple: The concealing garment of members of an ancient clan of fusioned ninjas.

Havok Green: HAZMAT suit of a since-disbanded ERBoH.com country, a large gas wasteland made habitable by breathing equipment and this suit.

Underdog Red: Blood soaked tie of a old series of cities that made an economy of crime.

And the Higher Power Colors too:

Mod Blue: Ceremonial gown of lower power authorities of ERBoH.com.

Global Mod Green: Earth-friendly flying mechanism, enabling higher power Authorities of ERBoH.com to move about more efficiently and serve justice in the blink of an eye.

Admin Maroon: The blood of enemies of the forum, Soaked right into Top Authorities' Calss III personnel uniform.

Even the custom colors:

Custom Color 1: The first in a long line of pigments that refuse to conform to color stereotypes.

Custom Color 2: Upper Echelon level of color options, a more flexible alternative to other colors like it.

One more thing: Maybe, with the Junior-Member-Senior member thing under usernames, we could change to represent Tiers.

Default color is Junior or regular Member, depending on post count.

First Tier is "First Tier Member", Obviously.

And so on until they get to custom colors, where it becomes "Top Tier Member"

This is just a small idea of mine, we can obviously stick with the Senior member thing. Though it would be cool if we didn't get stuck on senior after we get to that point.
