Ch 9
Purgatory

As you all know, the room was featureless, barren. However it was large enough to support the 11 souls in purgatory. Though it wasn't so large as to allow too much free roaming. Nobody really interacted with each other, as they knew what was coming. Well I guess except for Yoshi and Steelix, and Kirby came over to say hi to Yoshi, his reptillian friend with a belly as big as his own.

After what seemed like hours, Harley's voice rang throughout the area, "Alright, boys, you know what time it is! Oh, if Mr. J were here he would be, well actually, he'd probably be having a convo with you, Bats. Anyway, on the count of 10, you all will fight to the the redeath. The two survivors will fight each pair of victors from the two other arenas. We'll see which Titan comes out on top."

Batman clung onto that last sentence and spoke to himself, "Titan?"

"10, 9, 8, 7, oh screw it. Les see some blood here, boys!" exclaimed Harley. A bell rung, and the room exploded into bloodshed.

Mewtwo activated a force field, and his psychic powers pushed most of the room against the wall. He used Psychic to lift everyone in the room into the air, and was prepared to crush all of their minds. However, Dimentio had other plans. He expanded a clear box around Mewtwo, having willpower stronger than his.

Mewtwo only groaned and made a small gesture with his hand, and the clear box was shattered. Dimentio smiled, "You, I like you." And then he was kicked in the face by Captain Falcon. Dimentio dusted off his mask and disappeared, waiting for a later opportunity to strike.

"YE ******, WHAT SANE MAN DRESSES LIKE THAT!?" yelled Henderson. He charged at Captain Falcon with a gnome, which the racer easily sidestepped. He focused on the more concerning opponents. He stared at Steelix, deciding he was gonna tackle the large behemoth, when someone came up from behind. Biggs had swept his leg under Falcon's feet, dropping him to the ground. Kenway began to fire at him, but Biggs took Falcon's helmet and blocked the shots with it.

"Is that the best ya g-" he was interrupted by the blood that began gushing out of his mouth. Kenway had managed to knife him from behind. Mewtwo had enough watching and began the same frenzy as before, lifting everyone. However he didn't count on one thing. The onslaught of Dimentio clones that overtook the room. They all focused towards one goal, trapping Mewtwo. They all pushed Mewtwo against the wall. Dimentio fired a large spark of energy at Mewtwo's neck, severing the cord from his neck to the brain. Dimentio made all his clones disappear. Mewtwo instantly loss all touch with his psychic powers, and Tude managed to gut Mewtwo with his Claws.

With that threat out of the way, all were free to get into an all out war. Captain Falcon and Henderson both charged at Kenway, who held his arms to either side, and dispensed the hidden blades, effectively reaching into both men's hearts. The death wasn't necessarily quick or painless, but it worked. Batman quickly responded by firing his Batclaw at Kenway. He pulled him in and pushed a pressure point on Kenway's neck, then snapped it. Batman said to himself, "Technically he was already dead."

"Poyo!" shouted someone. Kirby landed in front of Batman and inhaled his pack of Explosive Gel.

Kirby jumped into the air, and stars surrounded him. He summoned a bomb, and swallowed it with gusto. Soon it was too much to handle, and he became a bright red, as he swelled to a massive size. The room went white, but soon dimmed. Kirby was miraculously alive, but now he wore a long, blue cap, and he held two bombs in his arms. The others were still a bit blinded, (except Steelix) from the flash. Kirby looked at who would be best to take out, and decided on Tude. He threw a bombardment (no pun intended) of bombs at him, blowing Tude sky high.

"Would you look at that, I'm getting ganged up on by these 'Nintendo' citizens," remarked Batman. Dimentio got the party started by throwing a bunch of sparks around the room, which bounced off the walls. Batman took this as an opportunity. He tossed several Batarangs at Steelix to pester him, which worked. Steelix dug into the ground, prepared to tear Batman to pieces from down under. Batman found shelter from the sparks and took out his Cryptogenic Sequencer. He turned the knobs on it, trying to sense Steelix's electromagnetic signals, and from that, determined the steel snake's frequency. He fine tuned the machine to a frequency that would irritate Steelix. He hit the sweet spot, and Steelix leapt out of the ground, writhing in pain. All of the sparks hit him directly. No biggie, right?

Very huge biggie. Now Steelix's metallic body was conducting electricity, not painful for him, but, you get the point by now. Batman cut the sheetmetal covered rope off his grappling hook and tied it to the end of a Remote-Controlled Batarang. He moved it so that it would wrap around Steelix's body. Naturally, Yoshi went to help his ally, and that was his doom. In a quick second, Batman made the Batarang wrap the end of the rope around Yoshi's neck. Thousands upon thousands of bolts traveled through the rope, and into Yoshi, frying him from the inside, and stopping his heart.

Kirby, more out of mercy then malicious intent, launched multiple bombs into Steelix's gaping mouth, effectively incinerating the beast's immune system.

Now it was just Batman, Kirby, and Dimentio.

Ironically, each had a different target in mind. Dimentio decided Batman the biggest threat, Batman couldn't risk Kirby's unpredictablility, and Kirby knew how powerful psychopathic jesters could be from experience.

Dimentio formed a clear box around Batman, but not before Batman launched razor sharp Batarangs, capable of tearing Kirby to bits. And Kirby had launched a huge bomb towards Dimentio's way.

Kirby formed a red bubble shield that blocked the Batarangs, and Dimentio had launched multiple magical sparks, disabling the bomb, but making him lose his concentration. The clear box shattered.

"Well, I've been saving this for a special occasion," started Dimentio, "Think fast!" He tossed a silver heart-shaped object at Kirby, who's only defense was to naturally inhale it. He did so, and the evil energy was too much for Kirby's small body, and it basically shut down all the functions of his organs. Kirby was dead.

Dimentio and Batman ceased fighting, and waited for Harley,

"Well, well, well, wasn't that exciting? Bats you get to move up, and I'll get to see you die AGAIN. How wonderful!? I should record this for Mr., oh yeah. And Dimentio, you as well! I guess us evil jesters always come up on top, am I right, or am I right?"

Dimentio smiled, "I guess that rings true, after all."

Batman cut to the chase, "Harley! Earlier, did you mention Ti" "Alright, that's enough, back to life you two boys!"

The two were transported.

These 3 chapters I've read were so awesome! Not only my character survived, which was kinda unexpected to me, but:

How about some predictions about who comes alive from this arena? My picks are Logan and the Spy.

Logan and Spy were completely healed and transported to waiting for purgatory!
