I dont get it. If people think the chat decreases forum activity, why cant they just not use it? Why do The people who like chat have to wait every other week? If you reallly wanted it gone, just dont use it. That's my opinion

The argument is that if there's a chat, people will be tempted to use that instead of posting on the forum, since that's a quicker way of communicating. If there's no chat, then you have no choice but to post on the forum, meaning forum activity will increase. I personally do agree that having a chat does decrease activity. However, it does also help build friendships and is nice to have around, which is why I voted for the chat to only be up every other week.

I feel like chat or not, activity is still pretty low. Only things that seem to kick up a lot of activity are major ERB announcements and when popular forum games update. I honestly dont think chat affects activity that much.

You do have to remember that it is the Christmas season, and a lot of active members are gone doing things with their families. This month overall isn't really expected to be as active as other ones.

It kinda does actually. If you wanted the chat gone because you think it descreases activity, just dont use the chat and post in the forum.

How about, next month, while ERB is on hiatus, we test out a week with chat and a week without it. Then after each week we can have a mod or something (prolly Dion) check the weeks statistics to find out how many people posted each week. That way we can find out for sure if chat affects activity.
