A simple suggestion Reguarding the Writers Corner

Suggestion number one: We should create a subsection for people who want their stories critiqued. That way people are only critiquing stories that want to be and nobody gets offended. Granted this subsection would need guidelines and rules to work and I have a few suggestions such as.

1. Don't be overly harsh in your critique remember that we as writers do have feelings, especially towards our work. i know that I want to improve my writing through constructive criticism not overly harsh hatred and trolling

2. No plagarized works for obvious reasons.

Another suggestion as to how this could work is a rule to make sure all stories in the critique section get fair and equal treatment. That rule being this.

You may post your first story free of charge. Before you post any subsequent story in the critique section you MUST review at least two other people stories and give good honest constructive feedback. Not a simple well that was good. EXPLAIN why. In your new post you most provide refrence links to those two reviews before posting. You must review at least two new stories before each new post.

Now of course for this to work we would need a mod team who was willing to be active and pay attention to this area and actively enforce these rules. I would be willing but I doubt anyone wants me to be a mod here anymore so you know. Anyways just a thought.

I really do think this idea would work and although it would require an active mod force it wouldn't be too hard to enforce or watch over.

To be fair, that doesn't force people to critique it. It's more of a suggestion.

Which is why i am suggesting a way to actually create a community of writers helping writers on this forum. And it will only help grow this forum and the writing section in general.

This isn't really a writing forum though, it's an ERB forum. If anything we should help people critique FMERBs over WC to fit in the topic.

Why should we limit this forum? There are a lot of writers on this forum looking for honest critiques who feel their writing is neglected. I feel this section will help resolve that feeling across this forum. You don't need to be a writing forum to help create a way to develop ones craft. I mean we have an art section, we aren't an art forum. But its there and people give advice in that section.

This. The FM ERBoH thing is dying more than WC and people are getting less CC for them than WC imo

Yeah. But forcing the mods to do this when it isn't really applicable to our forum is kind of silly. Again, it'd be a lot more applicable to do it to FMERB, but as much as the lack of activity in that section makes me upset, I don't think we can force anyone to read either, because that actually discourages people from posting because it makes it more of a chore than something fun.

Than suggestion number 2.

Just kill off the writers corner. It obviously serves no purpose. People constantly complain about its lack of feedback and activity and we as you say are not a writing forum so why even have it in the first place.
