    Epic Rap Battles of... uh...

Hi, this is a rap battle. I'll probably be making more of these. I don't think most people will get the references, so check out ref guide (separated into two parts in two posts) plox c:

    Color Guide:
    Spoiler:

    Thom Yorke
All of the other Radiohead members
    Jonny Greenwood
    John Lennon (and Yoko Ono)
    Ringo Starr
    Paul McCartney
    George Harrison

    Battle:
    Spoiler:

    EPIC RAP BATTLES OF UH
    RADIOHEAD
    VERSUS
    THE BEATLES
    BEGIN!

    Radiohead:
You don’t belong here, so we’ll put you in your right place.
Raps sweet as Pablo Honey, let’s give you all a little taste.
Spitting sick on this mic like with myxomatosis.
Blow your mind out and scatter your brains like you’re driving a Lotus.
You better run for your life, Paul, because our band’s running amok.
You might as well just give up, Ghost, you’re out of your little luck.
Don’t step to us, John, we’ll stomp you out 15 times with our old brown shoes
We’re sure you wish you were bulletproof with all of the shots fired at you.
George, we’ll let you down and leave you flat, leave us and don’t bother.
Anyone can play guitar, but ours blows this horse out of the water.
(How’d these guys make their millions.) Don’t ask me why, I don’t know.
Do yourselves a favour, pack your bags, and Rin-go home.

    The Beatles:
    *beat stops abruptly*
Well then. Now, who’s going first?

    Radiohead:
    *beat starts again*
Oh come on, you suckers aren’t even bloody prepared.
We’re mopping the floor up with your Hitler hair.
(Oh.) We can find better things to do, let’s leave these pussies alone.
And with that, we’re done burning you losers,
    (these bluebirds have flown.)

    The Beatles:
    *beat stops again*
Well, would you look at that, our rap opponents walked out on us! We should’ve been able to beat those youngins easily!
Did you really have to do that, John? Why didn’t you just go ahead and rap whatever came to your mind, and let us sort things out as we went?

Because you’re a fuckin’ cunt, Paul. Plain and simple.
    Whoa John, was that necessary?
Nope, but neither is putting one of your shitty songs on our records.
Come on guys, we can work this out!..
Get it?.. Like the song we made? We Can Work It Out?

    That was awful, Ringo.
Well, even though John just insulted me out of the blue, I have to agree with him.
    Well… grah!
    *Beat starts back up*

    Ringo Starr:
Awful? I’m the one thing telling you apart from One Direction!
I rap naturally on tracks like I was Thomas the Tank Engine!
From my hair to the feet down below my knees, ain’t I perfection?
Hell, feel free as a bird to make a film of your Erection!
Better than the Best, it’ll be easy for me to leave you all Beat!
I’m a beautiful boy, you’re bigger failures than the Apple Boutique!
I’m fly as wings, my raps will leave you unable to speak!
You’re nothing but junk, wankers, you’re just like fan mail to me!
Call me a hurricane, ‘cause I’m taking this battle by storm
Weed arrests are a huge no no, boys, let me show you the door!
Got the flow to rain on your parade, I’m miles above all the people,
Plant you like a tree, take your life away like an infestation of beetles!
I’ll own you here, there, anywhere, so why don’t we do it in the road?
From Penny Lane to Abbey, you can suck my long and winding chode!
I’m an All-Starr, I’m the greatest, always putting on a great show,
And if you don’t believe me, just ask your mothers, they should know!

    John Lennon:
Ye fuckin’ twat, I never had my mother and I know you didn’t either!
Got a schnoz that big but still a jealous, tight a$$, mouth breather!
You’re over! I’ll be telling every one around how I won this war!
I’m colder! Shame this turkey’s album responses were lukewarm!
Call yourself the greatest? Whatever helps you sleep thru the night.
Left-wing raps’ll burn this Nicol back to the ground,
    (damn right!)
Throwing shade, your fake plastic love songs are silly!
So suck MY dick, Dick, let me take you down to Meat City!

    Paul McCartney:
We shouldn’t have beef, give peace a chance and stop being jerks!

    John Lennon:
I’ll leave you squealing like your wife singing and let you nap in the dirt!

    Paul McCartney:
    Paul MC ain’t C Moon with short-sighted hypocrite L7s!
Amazing, maybe, how people can follow a man with no direction!
Understand someday you need to try and get over yourself one of these days,
Losing like another day in your weekend, this rap game’s easy to play!
I’m on fire, I’m the man, I’d recommend you start running and don’t stop,
So make like a seagull and fly away, Lenny, or just suck my great cock!
Don’t even try, try, try, your raps are nothing, they belong in Nutopia!
Everybody out there’s ready for my next big hit: Pimp Slappin’ the Both of Ya!
And George, before you say what you feel, beware of this beautiful knight!
Don’t even care anymore, try me, I’d be thrilled to punch out your damn lights!

    George Harrison:
My sweet lord, we aren’t going anywhere with fussing and debating,
Let’s come together and shatter the competition like our Ed Sullivan ratings!
Let this pass, we’ve been through thick and thin together all of these years
Give me peace on Earth, your arguing’s like One Direction to my ears!

    One Direction:
Oh, I’m sorry, we can’t hear your criticism from the top of the charts!
Attack you and steal this battle like we stole teenage girls’ hearts!
We’re something great, you must be inZayn if you think you can match our Style!
You can’t stand this Payne, we spit flow on this mic just like the Niall!
Oh, and speaking of birds, we’ll give you that and not take it back!
You’ve never loved your stomach or your thighs, because you’re all FAT!
We’ll light you up like we light up the world, send you leaving in one direction!
That’s right, we’ll send all ya’ll packin’ like Ringo in the White Album sessions!
You’re clearly outmatched, we’ve got, like, 20 fucking writers on our side!
We’ll steal your girls and have a bed-in with them, give em a ticket to ride!
Ya’ll talk about dick-suckin’ so much, why don’t you suck deez 1D Ds?

    Ref Guide Part 1:
    Spoiler:

    Radiohead Lines:
    Spoiler:

You don’t belong here, so we’ll put you in your right place.
    1. “You don’t belong here” is a reference to Radiohead’s song “Creep”, where one of the lines is “I don’t belong here”
    2. "You" is the first word Radiohead says in this battle, as well as the title of the first song on their first album.
    3. “Right place” is a reference to Radiohead song “Everything in Its Right Place”
    4. To “put someone in their place” is to let them know they aren’t as important as they think. Radiohead is saying the Beatles don’t deserve to be in a battle against them, and they’ll let them know that.
    5. I’ll put this here since it’s their first line: all of their lines are supposed to be read in a monotone voice, hence why I had them use a lot of periods. This is because they’re a pretty darn depressing band, to the point where a good amount of people criticize them for being “boring”. Just thought it’d be funny :3

Raps sweet as Pablo Honey, let’s give you all a little taste.
    1. Reference to a cover of “A Taste of Honey” the Beatles did. A pair of lines in that song are “A taste of honey/Tasting much sweeter than wine”
    2. Pablo Honey is a Radiohead album.
    3. This line is a “Let’s start this battle off” type of line.

Spitting sick on this mic like with myxomatosis.
    1. Reference to Radiohead song “Myxomatosis”, where one of the lines is “Twitching and salivating like with myxomatosis”
    2. To “spit sick” in a rap battle is to rap well. This is a pun on “sick”, since myxomatosis is a disease.

Blow your mind out and scatter your brains like you’re driving a Lotus.
    1. Reference to Beatles song “A Day in the Life” with “blow your mind out”. Some sources claim that Tara Browne was the inspiration for the song, and he died in a car crash in a Lotus Elan car.
    2. “Scatter your brains” is a reference to Radiohead song “Scatterbrain”.
    3. Reference to Radiohead song “Lotus Flower”.
    4. Threat line, was thinking about “I’m gunna bash yur fukin hed in m8” when I wrote it. It’s funny because they’re British : DDD

You better run for your life, Paul, because our band’s running amok.
    1. Reference to Beatles song “Run For Your Life”
    2. “Amok” is the debut album by Atoms for Peace, a supergroup that Thom Yorke and Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich are a part of.
    3. “Our band’s running” is a reference to the “Band on the Run” album and song by Paul McCartney and Wings.

You might as well just give up, Ghost, you’re out of your little luck.
    1. Reference to Radiohead song “Give Up the Ghost”. To give up the ghost is to die.
    2. Paul McCartney did a song for the video game “Destiny”. A major part of the game is an AI named Ghost. This is for you Spars :P
    3. Reference to the “Paul is Dead” hoax. Goes with the “give up the ghost” thing.
    4. Reference to Radiohead song “Lucky”
    5. Reference to Paul McCartney song “With a Little Luck”

Don’t step to us, John, we’ll stomp you out 15 times with our old brown shoes
    1. The “we’ll stomp you out 15 times” is a reference to Radiohead song “15 Step”
    2. Reference to Beatles song “Old Brown Shoe”
    3. Reference to the “Ten thousand dollar shoes I use to stomp out a Beatle” line in Bill O’Reilly vs John Lennon.
    4. Obvious step pun in “Don’t step to us”. To step to someone is to start a fight.

We’re sure you wish you were bulletproof with all of the shots fired at you.
    1. John Lennon was shot and killed by Mark David Chapman.
    2. “Bullet Proof… I Wish I Was” is a song by Radiohead.
    3. To “fire shots” in a rap battle means to diss someone.

George, we’ll let you down and leave you flat, leave us and don’t bother.
    1. Reference to Beatles song “You Can’t Do That”, which contains the lines “I’m gonna let you down/And leave you flat”.
    2. Reference to Radiohead song “Let Down”
    3. Reference to George Harrison song “Let It Down”
    4. Also in Radiohead song “Let Down” is the line “Crushed like a bug in the ground”. There was a subtle reference to this in “leave you flat”. Also, yknow, beetles=bugs.
    5. Reference to a Beatles song that George wrote, “Don’t Bother Me”. A line in that song is “So go away and leave me alone”.
    6. Straight-forward with the diss, they’re threatening him, then telling him to go away and not to bother trying.

Anyone can play guitar, but ours blows this horse out of the water.
    1. “Anyone Can Play Guitar” is a Radiohead song. George Harrison was the lead guitarist for the Beatles
    2. “Blows this horse out” is a reference to Radiohead song “Blow Out”.
    3. “Horse to the Water” is a song written by George Harrison and his son.
    4. George Harrison had a record label named “Dark Horse Records”, as well as an album and song named “Dark Horse”.
    5. To “Blow something out of the water” means to destroy someone in something. They’re basically saying “Our guitar playing is way better than yours”.

(How’d these guys make their millions.) Don’t ask me why, I don’t know.
    1. Reference to Radiohead B-Side “How I Made My Millions”.
    2. Reference to Beatles song “Ask Me Why”
    3. The “I don’t know” in this line is a subtle reference to Beatles song “Something”.
    4. Radiohead has no clue how the Beatles were as successful as they were.

Do yourselves a favour, pack your bags, and Rin-go home.
    1. Reference to a solo Thom Yorke song, “Black Swan”. A line in that song is “Do yourself a favour and pack your bags”
    2. Obvious Ringo pun.
    3. “Go home” is a reference to Beatles song “Get Back”.
    4. Basically telling the Beatles to spare themselves of more HURTFUL WORDS and just leave.

Oh come on, you suckers aren’t even bloody prepared.
    1. “Come on” is a reference to Beatles song “Please Please Me”. They say it a lot in it.
    2. “Suckers” and “bloody” are references to Radiohead song “We Suck Young Blood”
    3. I thought bloody had to be said at least once in this, since they’re both British bands and all :P

We’re mopping the floor up with your Hitler hair.
    1. The Beatles first met Astrid Kirchherr in Hamburg, where she introduced them to the famous Beatle haircut. She’s German yo.
    2. “Hitler hair” is a reference to Radiohead’s song “Karma Police”.
    3. The Beatles hairdo is called a moptop.
    4. To “mop the floor” with someone is to defeat them in a humiliating way. Obviously this defeat will be humiliating for them since they weren’t prepared for their first verse.

(Oh.) We can find better things to do, let’s leave you pussies alone.
    1. Reference to the “You could find better things to do” line in Beatles song “I’ll Be Back”.
    2. Reference to the Beatles cover of “Leave My Kitten Alone”. A pussy is a term for a coward. Radiohead’s implying the Beatles are cowards for not fighting back.
    3. Set-up for the next lineeeeeeee

And with that, we’re done burning you losers, (these bluebirds have flown.)
    1. Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown) is a song about a girl cockblocking and ditching John Lennon, and him burning her house down in return.
    2. “Where Bluebirds Fly” is a Radiohead B-Side. There aren’t any lyrics in it tho
    3. “Bluebird” is a Paul McCartney song
    4. To be “blue” means to be sad. Like I said earlier, a lot of Radiohead songs are sad :P
    5. Obvious burning pun. To burn someone in a rap battle means to insult them.
    6. Jonny Greenwood says the second half of the line as a reference to the fact that he composed the music for a movie named “Norwegian Wood”. Also Jonny speaks :OOOOOOOOOOO
    7. The “losers” in this line is a subtle reference to Beatles song “I’m a Loser”.
    8. They’re leaving the battle yo

    Ringo Starr Lines:
    Spoiler:

Awful? I’m the one thing telling you apart from One Direction!
    1. Ringo is MAAAAAAAAD that people didn’t like his pun.
    2. Mandatory One Direction reference. Had to happen at some point. :P
    3. "One Thing” is a One Direction song.
    4. Ringo’s basically saying he deserves more respect, as he thinks his distinctive drumming is what keeps the Beatles from suggin’. This is a reference to the Beatles being rejected by Decca Records before Ringo was a member because “guitar groups are on the way out”.
    5. This verse is going to be really long, only because I thought it’d be hilarious if Ringo got more lines than everyone else. I also made Ringo extremely full of himself for his character.

I rap naturally on tracks like I was Thomas the Tank Engine!
    1. Reference to the cover of “Act Naturally” Ringo sang as part of the Beatles.
    2. Ringo was the narrator of Thomas & Friends for a period of time.
    3. Soundtrack/Railroad track pun.
    4. Ringo’s saying that rapping on tracks comes “naturally” to him, just as moving on a railroad track would come naturally to Thomas.

From my hair to the feet down below my knees, ain’t I perfection?
    1. Reference to Beatles song “Come Together”, in which a line is “He got feet down below his knee”
    2. Reference to a cover of “Ain’t She Sweet” that the Beatles did, in which a line is “Ain’t that perfection?”

Hell, feel free as a bird to make a film of your Erection!
    1. Reference to Beatles song “Free as a Bird”
    2. John Lennon made a short film titled “Erection”.
    3. The soundtrack for that short film was from a Yoko Ono album named “Fly”. Birds fly and stuff.
    4. Adding on to the last line where he was bragging about his looks.

Better than the Best, it’ll be easy for me to leave you all Beat
    1. Ringo Starr replaced Pete Best as the drummer for the Beatles.
    2. Reference to Ringo song “Easy for Me”.
    3. Pun on the Beatles name.

I’m a beautiful boy, you’re bigger failures than the Apple Boutique!
    1. Reference to John Lennon song “Beautiful Boy”
    2. The Apple Boutique was a retail store opened by Beatles record company Apple Corps. It managed to lose a ton of money and had to be shut down. The aim for it was to create a “a beautiful place where beautiful people can buy beautiful things”.

I’m fly as wings, my raps will leave you unable to speak!
    1. Reference to Beatles song “Flying”, which is just an instrumental, hence “unable to speak”.
To be fly means to be cool.
    2. Reference to Ringo song “Wings”
    3. Reference to Paul McCartney and Wings.
    4. Straight-forward line, his raps are so good they’ll leave the others at a loss for words.

You’re nothing but junk, wankers, you’re like fan mail to me!
    1. Reference to this video where Ringo tells fans that he’ll be throwing away all fan mail and not reading it after a certain date: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpd24yVy5C4
    2. Reference to Paul McCartney song “Junk”.
    3. British word is British : D

Call me a hurricane, ‘cause I’m taking this battle by storm
    1. Reference to Ringo Starr song “Call Me”.
    2. Ringo Starr was part of Rory Storm and the Hurricanes before joining the Beatles.
    3. To “take something by storm” is to successfully capture something in a fury. To “take” a rap battle is to win it.

Weed arrests are a huge no no, boys, let me show you the door!
    1. Ringo is the only Beatle who has not been arrested for marijuana possession.
    2. Reference to Ringo song “The No No Song”, which features Ringo refusing marijuana (among other drugs) and the line “And then it makes it hard to find the door”.
    3. Reference to the cover of “Boys” Ringo did with the Beatles.
    4. To show someone the door means to make them leave.

Got the flow to rain on your parade, I’m miles above all the people,
    1. Reference to Beatles song “Across the Universe”, which contains the line “Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup”
    2. Reference to Beatles song “Rain”
    3. To rain on someone’s parade is to ruin something for them.
    4. Reference to Beatles song “Helter Skelter”, which contains line “I’m coming down fast but I’m miles above you”
    5. Reference to John Lennon song “Imagine”, which contains the line “Above us only sky” as well as “Imagine all the people”.
    6. Rain comes from above so yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh

Plant you like a tree, take your life away like an infestation of beetles!
    1. A tree planted in memorial of George Harrison was ironically killed by a beetle infestation.
    2. Reference to Paul McCartney song “Take It Away”.
    3. To plant someone is to destroy them.

I’ll own you here, there, anywhere, so why don’t we do it in the road?
    1. Reference to Beatles song “Here, There and Everywhere”
    2. Reference to Beatles song “Why Don’t We Do It in the Road?”
    3. Straight-forward, he can kick their butts anywhere, and wants to kick their butts in a road. Set-up for the next line.

From Penny Lane to Abbey, you can suck my long and winding chode!
    1. Reference to Beatles song “Penny Lane”, which is about a road of the same name.
    2. Reference to Beatles album “Abbey Road”, which, like, has Abbey Road in the cover.
    3. Reference to Beatles song “The Long and Winding Road” which, like, is about a long and winding road.
    4. Get it? Do “it” in the road? hehe.
    5. The point of these two lines is that he can own them anywhere… and they can suck his dick anywhere.

I’m an All-Starr, I’m the greatest, always putting on a great show
    1. Reference to Ringo Starr’s “All-Starr Band” supergroup.
    2. Reference to Ringo Starr’s song “I’m the Greatest”
    3. A line in that same song is “I was in the greatest show on Earth”
    4. A “show” can also mean something… else, as he implies in the next line.

And if you don’t believe me, just ask your mothers, they should know!
    1. “I Don’t Believe You” is a Ringo Starr song.
    2. In the "I'm the Greatest" song mentioned in the previous line, one of the lines are "I'm the greatest, and you better believe it, baby".
    3. “Your Mother Should Know” is a Beatles song.
    4. He’s saying their mothers should know how great he is, because… yknow. It’s a yo mama joke. :P

    John Lennon Lines:
    Spoiler:

Ye fuckin’ twat, I never had my mother and I know you didn’t either!
    1. John Lennon’s turn! His disses are going to be witty, brutal, and angry.
    2. Reference to John Lennon song “Mother”, where one of the lines is “Mother, you had me but I never had you”.
    3. The “I know” is a subtle reference to John Lennon song “I Know, I Know”
    4. It is not possible for Ringo to have ever done anything with John’s mother, as she died before Ringo and John met.

Got a schnoz that big but still a jealous, tight a$$, mouth breather!
    1. Ringo’s kinda known for having a large nose.
    2. The “jealous” is a reference to John Lennon song “Jealous Guy”. Lennon is saying that Ringo is only saying the things he’s saying because he’s jealous of Lennon’s success.
    3. The “tight a$$” is a reference to John Lennon song “Tight A$”. A tight-ass means someone who can’t relax.
    4. This is a play on “mouth breather”, which is a term for “stupid person”. Lennon’s saying that despite the size of Ringo’s nose, he still breathes out of his mouth.

You’re over! I’ll be telling every one around how I won this war!
    1. Reference to John Lennon song “Happy Xmas (War Is Over)”
    2. Reference to a movie John Lennon starred in, “How I Won the War”
    3. Separating the “every” and the “one” was a subtle reference to Ringo song “One”.

I’m colder! Shame this turkey’s album responses were lukewarm!
    1. It’s true. Direct shot at him for claiming he was “the greatest” and not living up to it.
    2. “Cold Turkey” is a John Lennon song.
    3. “Ain’t That a Shame” was the first song John Lennon learned to play. He later did an actual cover of it.
    4. Turkey=A fool
    5. Cold, warm, heat. “Cold rhymes” is a thing. I imagine in rap battle terms “lukewarm” would be pretty bad, since hot and cold rhymes are both good things.

Call yourself the greatest? Whatever helps you sleep thru the night.
    1. Lennon is laughing at the idea of Ringo, who most people agree did the least musically of all of the Beatles, calling himself the greatest. “Whatever helps you sleep at night” is a saying that means that a statement is ridiculous.
    2. “Whatever Gets You Thru the Night” is a John Lennon song.
    3. I think it’s worth mentioning that the “I’m the Greatest” song by Ringo was written by John in the first place.

Left-wing raps’ll burn this Nicol back to the ground, (damn right!)
    1. Jimmie Nicol replaced Ringo Starr for a series of concerts in 1964, went from obscure to famous for a period, and then just went back to obscure again.
    2. One of Ringo’s most famous songs is named “Photograph”. One of Nickelback’s most famous songs has the same name. Nickelback’s music is hated by a lot of people. Pun on Nicol back and Nickelback.
    3. John Lennon was extremely left-wing, so decided to put a left and right pun here :3
    4. He’s saying he’ll “burn him back to the ground. This is a reference to Beatles song “Help!”, which contains lyric “Help me get my feet back on the ground”. The point I was trying to get across was that Ringo was nothing before meeting John, and he has the power to put him right back where he started. This goes very well with the Jimmie Nicol story.
    5. Kind of a direct comeback to Ringo comparing them to One Direction.
    6. Reference to Nickelback song “Burn it to the Ground”, which contains “damn right” in it.
    7. I’ve gone over rap battle burning already so yeah.
    8. No real reason as to why Yoko is here, I was just imagining her voice saying that and thought it’d be hilarious :P

Throwing shade, your fake plastic love songs are silly!
    1. Reference to Beatles song “Octopus’s Garden”, which Ringo sings. A line in it is “”In an octopus’s garden in the shade”. To “throw shade” is to talk trash about a friend, which Lennon is doing right now.
    2. Reference to John Lennon’s Plastic Ono Band.
    3. I figured Radiohead had to be mentioned at least once in this portion of the battle, so I reference their song “Fake Plastic Trees”. This song actually has “fake plastic love” said in it. Also, the album cover for the John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band has a tree in it :OOOO
    4. Reference to Paul McCartney song “Silly Love Songs”.
    5. John’s implying that Ringo’s love songs are “fake” and “silly”, as in they don’t come from the heart. A lot of Ringo’s songs are actually written by other people.

So suck MY dick, Dick, let me take you down to Meat City!
    1. Ringo Starr’s real name is Richard Starkey. Dick is a nickname for Richard.
    2. “Let me take you down” is a reference to Beatles song “Strawberry Fields Forever”.
    3. “Meat City” is a John Lennon song.
    4. Meat is a slang word for penis.
    5. “Take you down” hue.
    6. Retort to Ringo’s “suck mah deek” line.

I’ll leave you squealing like your wife singing and let you nap in the dirt!
    1. John Lennon is pissed at Paul implying that he is a hypocrite, so he threatens to make him squeal and to make him take a “dirt nap”, which means to die.
    2. Linda McCartney was heavily criticized for her musical talent, with a lot of people believing she was only successful because of who she was married to.
    3. Reference to Beatles song “Piggies”, which contains the lines “Have you seen the little piggies/Crawling in the dirt?”. Pigs squeal so yeah, he’s comparing Linda McCartney’s singing to a pig squealing.

    Ref Guide Part 2:
    Spoiler:

    Paul McCartney Lines:
    Spoiler:

We shouldn’t have beef, give peace a chance and stop being jerks!
    1. Paul’s turn. I tried to make him gradually get more angry as his verse goes on.
    2. Beef/meat pun since meat was mentioned in the previous line.
    3. Paul’s trying to calm the other two down, and telling Lennon to listen to his own advice at the same time. This is a reference to Julian Lennon quote “Dad could talk about peace and love out loud to the world but he could never show it to the people who supposedly meant the most to him: his wife and son.”
    4. “Beef” and “jerks” are references to John Lennon song “Beef Jerky”
    5. Reference to John Lennon song “Give Peace a Chance”.
    6. Paul McCartney is a huge animal rights activist and vegetarian, hence “We shouldn’t have beef”.

    Paul MC ain’t C Moon with short-sighted hypocrite L7s!
    1. Basically, he’s not okay with John Lennon being a bit of a hypocrite. He’s also a bit pissed now.
    2. Yoko Ono isn’t exactly thought of as the best singer either, which adds to the whole “hypocrite” thing.
    3. Pun on McCartney. I think everyone here by now knows what an MC is, but still, it’s a rapper.
    4. “C Moon” is a song by Paul McCartney and Wings. C Moon itself means “cool”. Also mentioned in the song is L7, which means “square”. He’s calling Lennon a square, which means a dull person.
    5. “Short-sighted hypocrite” is a reference to John Lennon song “Give Me Some Truth”, and is an addition to Paul’s last line. Saying that he “ain’t C Moon with” with it is a reference to the same song, where John Lennon says “I’m sick and tired of hearing things from..”
    6. John Lennon is known for his glasses, hence “short-sighted”.
    7. Notice how first he says MC, then he says C M(oon), then he mentions sight (see). A bit of wordplay.

Amazing, maybe, how people can follow a man with no direction!
    1. I hope I word this correctly because it might be confusing. John Lennon has a pretty huge following of people with the same beliefs as him. Paul thinks it’s ridiculous that someone who didn’t follow what they preached would have a following, hence “with no direction”. Continuing with the whole “YOU FREAKING HYPOCRITE” thing.
    2. Reference to Paul McCartney song “Maybe I’m Amazed”
    3. “But don’t leave me with no direction” is a line in Paul McCartney song “Say Say Say”.
    4. Reference to John Lennon song “How”. This song also features the line “How can I go forward when I don't know which way I'm facing”.
    5. “If you want to be a hero well just follow me” is a line in John Lennon song “Working Class Hero”.

Understand someday you need to try and get over yourself one of these days,
    1. Paul McCartney song “Hope of Deliverance” contains the line “I will understand someday, one day”
    2. Reference to Paul McCartney song “One Of These Days”
    3. Paul McCartney song “Lonely Road” contains line “I tried to get over you”
    4. “Get over yourself” is something people say to someone who thinks too highly of themselves.
    5. Someday, these days, day stuff. This will continue for the next line.

Losing like another day in your weekend, this rap game’s easy to play!
    1. Reference to John Lennon’s “Lost Weekend”, where he was given permission by Yoko Ono to have an affair with his assistant named May Pang for 18 months. 2. 2. Pun on the “lost” in the name. Also weekend=days.
    3. Reference to Paul McCartney song “Another Day”. Paul is saying this loss would count as another day to add to the “Lost Weekend”. Also day.
    4. Reference to Beatles song “Yesterday”, which contains the line “Yesterday, love was such an easy game to play”. The rap game is another term for rap industry or something like that, so he’s calling himself a good rapper. Also day.

I’m on fire, I’m the man, I’d recommend you start running and don’t stop
    1. Paul McCartney has a duo with Youth named “The Fireman”.
    2. A song by the Fireman is “Don’t Stop Running”.
    3. Set-up for the next line

So make like a seagull and fly away, Lenny, or just suck my great cock!
    1. Everyone in the battle has mentioned birds so far, so I’m just keeping it going. All of the Beatles mentioned dick sucking too.
    2. Building on the “start running” from the last line.
    3. Reference to “Fly Away” by Lenny Kravitz because, yknow, Lennon and Lenny :P
    4. “The Great Cock & Seagull Race” is a McCartney song. It’s an instrumental.
    5. Retort to Lennon’s dick-sucking line this time.

Don’t even try, try, try, your raps are nothing, they belong in Nutopia!
    1. Poking fun at John Lennon’s satirical “country” named Nutopia. No citizens were ever recorded in it, but it was advertised as a place with “no land, no boundaries, no passports, only people”, soooo basically it was nothing. John’s raps don’t mean anything to Paul, so they’d be a perfect fit for it.
    2. Reference to Paul McCartney song “Try Not to Cry”.

Everybody out there’s ready for my next big hit: Pimp Slappin’ the Both of Ya!
    1. “Both of ya” = Lennon and Starr. Paul’s showing that he’s mad at Ringo too.
    2. "Everybody Out There” is a Paul McCartney song.
    3. This is a tiny reference to John Lennon’s wife beating stuff.
    4. Pun on the word “hit”, as in musical hit and physical hit, with “slappin’”.
    5. Paul McCartney has had the most hit songs of any Beatle.

And George, before you say what you feel, beware of this beautiful knight!
    1. Paul assumes that George is going to start dissing him now, so he warns him not to try.
    2. George Harrison song “What Is Life” contains the line “What I feel, I can’t say”.
    3. "Beware of the Darkness” is a George Harrison song.
    4. Reference to Paul McCartney song “Beautiful Night”. Paul McCartney was thought of as the “pretty Beatle”, and was knighted for his services to music.
    5. Night, darkness, y’know.

Don’t even care anymore, try me, I’d be thrilled to punch out your damn lights!
    1. “I Don’t Care Anymore” is a George Harrison song. Paul’s saying he doesn’t really care if George tries to diss him, even though he said not to in the previous line, but he better be ready. This is a line to show how angry Paul is right now.
    2. Reference to Paul McCartney song “No More Lonely Nights”, which contains the line “You’re my guiding light” as well as “May I never miss the thrill of being near you”
    3. Reference to Beatles song “Good Night”, which contains the line “Now the sun turns off his light”.
    4. Reference to George Harrison song “The Light That Has Lighted The World”.
    5. First he had the day thing, now he’s doing a night thing to end his verse.
    6. To “punch someone’s lights out” is to knock them out, m8.

    George Harrison Lines:
    Spoiler:

My sweet lord, we aren’t going anywhere with fussing and debating.
    1. George, even though Paul assumed he was going to diss him, decides to try and calm the others down. This is more of a story-telling verse than anything else. George gets the fewest lines of any Beatle in the battle because he’s thought of as the “quiet Beatle”, but gets to spend his words in a positive way.
    2. “My Sweet Lord” is a George Harrison song. It’s used here in the same way “oh my God” would be used.
    3. Reference to the song that started this all, “We Can Work It Out”. That song contains the lines “Life is very short and there’s no time/For fussing and fighting my friend”.

Let’s come together and shatter the competition like our Ed Sullivan ratings!
    1. Reference to Beatles song “Come Together”
    2. The Beatles shattered television records with their famous appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show with 73 million viewers in the US. That’s almost 100!
    3. The Beatles are at their strongest together! : D

Let this pass, we’ve been through thick and thin together all of these years
1.The Beatles have been through a lot together, even after the deaths of two of them.
    2. “All Things Must Pass” is a George Harrison album.
    3. Reference to Beatles song “Another Girl”, which contains the lines “Who will love me till the end/Through thick and thin”.
    4. “All Those Years Ago” is a George Harrison song.

Give me peace on Earth, your arguing’s like One Direction to my ears!
    1. “Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)” is a George Harrison song.
    2. John Lennon song “How Do You Sleep?”, a diss track directed at Paul McCartney, contains the line “The sound you make is muzak to my ears”.
    3. Their arguing is unpleasant to his ears, just like One Direction’s music.

    One Direction Lines:
    Spoiler:

Oh, I’m sorry, we can’t hear your criticism from the top of the charts!
    1. Oh boy, it’s One Direction. I tried to make the lines hilariously bad yet SOMEWHAT clever at the same time for this verse, so yeah. They’re going to be “trying too hard to be clever” for the whole verse basically.
    2. Notice how Ringo mentioned One Direction, John Lennon said “One”, Paul McCartney said “Direction”, and George mentioned One Direction. Hooray for foreshadowing :3
    3. Ears were mentioned in the previous line, hearing is mentioned in this one.
    4. Reference to John Lennon song “Aisumasen (I'm Sorry)”.
    5. “Can’t hear you from the top of the charts!” is legitimately something Directioners say in defense of them, which I found kinda funny. It’s basically saying “we don’t give a crap about how you feel, we’re successful”.
    6. My way of setting up their characters in this battle.

Attack you and steal this battle like we stole teenage girls’ hearts!
    1. The majority of One Direction’s fanbase are teenage girls.
    2. “Heart Attack” is a One Direction song.

We’re something great, you must be inZayn if you think you can match our Style!
    1. “Something Great” is a One Direction song.
    2. Reference to Zayn Malik, a former member of One Direction, and Harry Styles.

You can’t stand this Payne, we spit flow on this mic just like the Niall!
    1. “Cause I couldn’t stand the pain” is a line in Beatles song “If I Fell”
    2. Liam Payne and Niall Horan are One Direction members.
    3. Yknow, flow, Niall, Nile… hehe.
    4. A huge example of them “trying too hard to be clever” here :P

Oh, and speaking of birds, we’ll give you that and not take it back!
    1. Everyone in the battle except for George Harrison mentioned birds/flying/wings in some way.
    2. To “give someone the bird” is to give them the middle finger.
    3. Reference to One Direction song “I Want”, which contains the lines “Give you this, give you that/Blow a kiss, take it back”.
    4. I thought it’d be pretty funny if I built up the whole “bird” theme the whole battle just for it to end with a middle finger joke.

You’ve never loved your stomach or your thighs, because you’re all FAT!
    1. “You’ve never loved your stomach or your thighs” is a line from One Direction song “Little Things”.
    2. OOOOOOOOOOOO

We’ll light you up like we light up the world, send you leaving in one direction!
    1. Reference to “What Makes You Beautiful”, which contains the line “Baby you light up my world like nobody else”.
    2. Y’know, One Direction. Duh.

That’s right, we’ll send all ya’ll packin’ like Ringo in the White Album sessions!
    1. To “send someone packing” is to dismiss them. Ringo left the band for a bit during sessions for the White Album.

You’re clearly outmatched, we’ve got, like, 20 fucking writers on our side!
    1. One Direction has a ton of writers for almost all of their songs… for some reason. They’re saying this gives them the numbers advantage so their raps MUST be better :3

We’ll steal your girls and have a bed-in with them, give em a ticket to ride!
    1. “Steal My Girl” is a One Direction song.
    2. Reference to John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s Bed-In for Peace.
    3. Reference to “Ticket to Ride”, a Beatles song. I think you can guess what they mean by “ride” in this case.

Ya’ll talk about dick-suckin’ so much, why don’t you suck deez 1D Ds?
    1. All Beatles except for George Harrison told another Beatle to suck their dick in this battle.
    2. Yknow, One Direction, 1D, D… I shouldn’t have to explain this x3

You dorks are clearly going to lose against the greatest band you’ve ever-
    1. “You’re Going to Lose That Girl” is a Beatles song.

This is extremely impressive. Kind of inspires me to start writing again.

The history of the Beatles is something I've always been interested in, but never really took the time to fully learn about. So I really liked learning a lot about all of the drama and stuff that happened behind the scenes.
