Mecha, The Remaining

Threatened and Scared, Brine held his tongue. Ranger left the team to carry out a secret operation. Ranger wasn't there, leaving Brine this opportunity.

---

"Yup," Sanic said, "I was awake when Ranger left. He said that he was gonna go and finish off Sam before it's too late."

"So that explains it," Saiya said. For minutes before they were discussing where Ranger went. Remembering the fears of last night, Brine walked out of the grocery store.

"So why did you lie?" Sane asked Brine.

"Huh," Brine came to the realization that no one believed his lie, "What are you talking about?"

"You can drop the act," Buttercream confirmed Brine's thought, "Ranger isn't here, so you can tell us what really happened."

"Alright." Brine was confident. He thought about the secret, but it all of a sudden escaped his mind. He desperately tried to remember, but it was no hope.

"I..." Brine's confidence was deflated, "I don't remember."

Sane sighed, but decided that the team would find out.

"Okay, we're going to find his secret." Sane announced. Sanic and Buttercream started checking under rocks, Saiya and Sane looked through the Grocery Store, and Brine just sat and tried to remember. Hours passed to no avail.

"Alright, Sam." Ranger said as he ran through the field. He was stopped by a ship. Mancha stepped out of it. Lohuy followed behind.

"Well, well, well" Lohuy laughed, "if it isn't my good old friend-"

"Shut up, Lohuy." Ranger didn't stop, "I have more pressing matters."

"Ah Ranger," Mancha grinned, "always eager to ruin the party."

There was no hostility. It seemed as though they were genuinely friends.

"Don't worry. I'll stop by in due time." Ranger passed the distance to where they would hear each other. He could tell he was getting closer to Sam.

"Breakthrough," Sanic said.

"Huh?" Saiya was caught off guard.

"Where was Ranger before he came to save us?" Sanic asked, "The forest!"

"Sanic..." Buttercream was calm, "You're a genius!"

The team walked through the forest. There were no signs of Ranger ever being there. After a while they found a creek. Past the creek with footsteps stamped into mud.

"Sam!" Ranger shouted, seeing Sam still stuck in his mech.

"Ranger! I haven't had time to talk to you formally. How's the collection going?" Sam asked.

"It's going pretty good. But I must protect my friends! So you're coming back with me!" Ranger was serious. He turned into his mech, attached himself to Sam's goop blob and flew off. Flying was slow but he made it.

They followed the footprints until they came across a tree stump.

"Dammit!" Sane yelled, "Why does the path stop here?"

Saiya turned into her super stealth, ex-government mode. He crept up to the tree stump and tapped it with her finger, her ear pressed against it.

"It doesn't!" She was excited. She tapped it harder for everyone to hear, revealing a hollow thump. She lifted it up as a hatch. The ground around the stump widened into a hole. There were mossy stone steps leading down. The group quickly went down them but were greeted by a stone wall.

"Oh boy," Buttercream was sarcastic, "his secret is a staircase."

A rock poked from out of the sides of the path. Saiya pushed it in, causing more rumbling.

"Wrong again," Saiya was on a roll. The wall slid down, revealing the rest of the path. They followed it and finally found themselves at a shack. The door was rusted and the roof was beat up. Brine's mind went into full gear.

"This is it," Brine said, "Ranger's secret"

Upon entering the shack, it rose back to ground level.

Inside of the shack there was a refrigerator, empty soup cans and a torn up carpet.

"Wow," Sane was disappointed, "Old chicken noodles and a rug. Quite the secret you've been stressing about."

"This can't be right..." Brine was devastated.

"Well it is right," Sanic was mad, "we went on a wild goose chase for a fucking refrigerator and empty soup cans."

Brine spotted a scratched up reclining chair and plopped down on it.

"I'm sorry guys. I could've sworn that there was something more to this hut." Brine felt like the worst man alive. He pulled the lever to recline and heard a loud grinding noise. The wall of the shack transformed into a long corridor.

"How does this work?" Sane was confused. This opening is bigger than the forest itself, how have we never seen it?" Sane asked. Buttercream quickly ran to get a look. He saw nothing where the room would be and was able to walk through it. He came back to the shack.

"What the hell?" Buttercream was freaked out, "When we're not in here-"

"The room doesn't appear," Sane cut him off.

"No," Buttercream was still shocked, "The room doesn't exist.." They all wandered into the room. Buttercream's statement contradicted itself. From the outside you could walkthrough, but from the inside the room was really there. The farther they made it, the more crammed the room got with bookshelves. Classics and modern books. Famed and unknown.

"Wow," Saiya's eyes sparkled, "Ranger's collection is amazing!".

"There are some weird books here," Sanic said holding up a book titled "5: YMJ HTQQJHYNTS". Saiya put the book back, saying that there should be no signs of them being there. The next room was a massive kitchen. Name any food, it was in there. It was decked out with futuristic microwaves and ovens.

"From soup to soufflé" Sane laughed, smelling a bubbling pot of some kind of chicken, coated with fine seasons. After months of eating grocery store food, the very smell of fresh chicken was a fantasy. After Saiya practically peeled Sane away, they went into the next room. An exercise hub. Treadmills, weight lifting kits, medicine balls, again it was stacked. Sanic tried to lift a large dumbbell and practically broke his arm.

"No wonder Ranger's so strong," Sanic said before moving along. The made it to the final room. A lounge with an open fireplace, a large mounted painting, and more bookshelves among other things. The painting was a giant canvas splashed with colors, forming a lion resting.

"How is this secret bad?" Sane plopped down onto a red leather couch, "This is awesome!". Again Brine knew that wasn't it. He tried messing with everything. Tilting books, lifting chairs, checking behind bookcases. Brine lifted the painting and was terrified. It was a wall of the same needles used to inject the world's population.

"WHAT?" Saiya shouted.

"No, no, no. Don't worry," Buttercream reassured, "They're all empty, see?"

"Yeah," Sanic sided with Buttercream, "The shelf is labeled 'Research'. Maybe he's trying to disable the Government's mechs?"

"That makes sense. And it's a big shocking secret. I understand why he would hide it from us," Sane nodded. Brine felt a little cold, so he twisted the temperature nub for the fireplace. Suddenly the fire went out and unlocked one final room. Before it finished, a voice called out and made Brine set the fire back to normal.

"Oh grandma," Mancha was angry, "what large eyes you have!"

"It's you!" Saiya perked up.

"Why are you surprised?" Mancha laughed, "you guys are the ones that broke into my friend's house!"

"Y-y-you mean?" Buttercream trembled, "You're friends with Ranger?"

"Back in the day." Mancha answered. Mancha slipped a machete out of his coat sleeve and charged towards Sanic. "Let's start with you!"

"No!" Buttercream jumped in front of the blade. He was heaving, and looked down. The blade was going through his stomach.

"Looks I got a lucky break!" Mancha laughed, spinning the blade around.

"No," Buttercream coughed out with some blood, "looks like you made a-"

Buttercream suddenly transformed into his large, yellow rabbit Mech.

"BIG MISTAKE!". He flicked the knife and it flew far away.

Ranger was tearing through the sky, when a knife poked onto him, and then fell off.

"Shit," Ranger noticed that he hadn't seen Lohuy's ship, "Those fuckers!"

He increased his speed.

The ceiling had collapsed, destroying the facade it created from the outside. Buttercream scooped Mancha up and carried him outside to fight.

"So, little boy," Buttercream was drunk with power, "Why haven't you activated your mech?"

"Because against you," Mancha didn't lose his smug look, "I'm in no danger."

Shift: 8

Dayum, Ranger be pissed

Sorry to leave you guys hanging at a juicy part, but there is no episode tonight. I feel under the weather. As long as my sickness doesn't get any worse, expect an episode tomorrow.

"So" Sane looked to Lohuy, "are you gonna run away again like a little bitch?"

"The thought crossed my mind," Lohuy grinned, "but it would be much sweeter to kill your whole team at once!"

"Not our whole team!" Sanic broke his silence, "Ranger's still out there and he's gonna kick your asses!"

"Yeah about that, R-" Lohuy was cut off.

"Now's not the time!" Mancha snapped around. Mancha started freaking out. "And I'm tired of taking orders from YOU." His skin turned deep red, "I'm tired of everything!"

"Oh boy," Lohuy sighed, jumping to the aid of the team.

"What?" Saiya asked.

"This is Mancha's mech. Stopping him is like trying to make a bullet ricochet off of a blanket. So for the time being, I'm gonna make sure I don't die." Lohuy explained. Before Saiya could question his mech, Mancha started growing. Instead of stopping like other mechs, he kept growing and growing. He was the largest thing they'd ever seen.

"What do we do?" Buttercream asked, still inside his mech.

"We use teamwork!" Brine cooked up a plan, "Buttercream, Sane, Sanic, temporary good guy person! You guys work on distracting by any means necessary! Saiya, come with me!"

Brine and Saiya ran into the ruins of Ranger's fortress.

"Now how would he open these cans of soup without," Brine revealed a bit of his plan, "a can opener?" Saiya picked up on what he was saying and ran with him to Ranger's kitchen room. They dug through all the cabinets until they found one can opener.

"Okay, Saiya! Turn one of the stove's eyes up all the way!" Brine commanded. As soon as Saiya turned the switch, the eye starting glowing a blazing red. Brine carefully placed the middle of the can opener onto the eye and ran into the front room. He ripped the seat off and dug out one of the springs. He patted himself on the back and continued. He returned to the kitchen and grabbed the can opener.

"Saiya, this next part is important!"

Mancha continued growing and screaming. Lohuy, Sane and Sanic all ran around him in different directions while Buttercream attacked him if he tried to do anything. Eventually he got so big that Buttercream could barely see his head.

Brine worked on molding the Can opener to a right angle. He fastened the spring to the actual opener part. Saiya came back with one of the syringes from behind Ranger's painting and twisted it into the spring. Brine twisted the opener back, making things all tightly held together.

"Here's how you shoot. To practice I'll hit that bread loaf over there." She untwisted the opener. The spring popped swiftly and at a near undetectable speed, pierced through the bread.

"Alright," Brine was tense, "I'm ready."

"I can do this for you Brine. You only have one shot out there." Saiya informed him.

"No," Brine quickly responded, "I need to prove myself a useful team member."

Sane, Lohuy and Sanic could barely keep up with the raging Mancha. Buttercream's attacks did nothing anymore.

"Come on Brine!" Sane shouted. As if on cue, Brine and Saiya came running out with their makeshift gun. Brine grabbed the opener part in anticipation. His hand slipped and he undid it. The syringe shot out and as if in slow motion they watched it go on its path through the air. There was a loud explosion and Mancha was back in his human form on the ground, the syringe stuck in his chest. Brine ran up to him and pulled up the plug of the syringe. It filled with the same metallic liquid used months ago. Mancha was breathing his final air.

"Lohuy," he coughed up substantial amounts of blood, "you know what to do." his eyes lost the life that everybody seems to have. He was gone.

"You see," Lohuy stepped back, "we're the GMs. And when a GM dies, all the other remaining GMs gain strength. And, it appears that I'm the only GM left in the entire world." Lohuy cracked his knuckles and somehow activated his mech on command. He had a shiny purple metal wrapped around him. He started growing like Mancha did, but his mech's muscles started expanding greatly.

"This is the power of a true GM warlord!" Lohuy's muscles continued to grow. There was a loud popping noise. His suit began to explode. After all the purple was gone, there was a gush of liquid. Lohuy slid out.

"The power," his eyes started fading, "was too much."

After they cleaned up, they went to open up that final door. It was sliding and they all crawled in. It was pitch black. Buttercream found a light switch and flipped it up.

"Oh my god," Sanic was terrified. Dead bodies everywhere. Upside down. Old members of ERBoH, Spartica's now lifeless body and... Ranger's dead body upside down like the rest..

"Now," Ranger's voice called out from behind the doorway, "you guys are gonna wish you didn't find this."

"If you're Ranger," Sane was freaked out, "then who's that?" He pointed to the dead Ranger upside down.

"Ooooh, Him?" Ranger laughed, "He died in an explosion a few months ago. I made up some crazy story so you thought I was him. I gained info, got the memory of one of your kind and even got to meet some old friends. I had to kill one of them but I'm sure he forgives me. I took some syringes so that I could say I would make your mechs stronger. I was gonna give them genetic destroying chemicals, but you found me out. I knew Brine would spill the beans so I went to get my partner."

"Partner?" Sanic was still trying to process this.

"Yeah you've met him," Ranger's skin started to peal off, "And his name is Sam Bama!". While Ranger's skin continued to melt off he made trumpet noises while Sam walked into the shack.

"Honey," Sam slid in, "I'm home!"

"Wait a minute," Saiya realized, "YOU'RE the shapeshifter of legend. The government picked you up when you were 13 because of your tremendous talent. You're..."

"Yes, I'm Polar!" Ranger had completely transformed into something completely different. He shapeshifted into Saiya and mimicked her voice, "And you're Saiya. You were Rob's buddy until you learned about the mechs."

"Wait a minute," Buttercream turned to Saiya, "You knew about the mechs and you didn't tell us?"

"I.. I... I'm-" Saiya started freaking out.

"Whoops," Polar turned into Buttercream, "Did I reveal a top secret? Sometimes stuff slips out."

"You're a monster!" Brine shouted.

"And you're a momma's boy who was so devestated about your family being killed by the government. In turn you have survivors guilt and have no confidence, so you just drink soda and put in your two cents when you feel like you're relevant." Polar winked. "I could see your memory too."

"I'll kill you both!" Sanic stepped up.

"Actually no." Polar didn't change expression.

"We got different plans," Sam took out two knives. He tossed one to Polar. They cut their throats in synchronization and stood next to each other. Their liquids blended into a deep dark green. He had Gauntlets with wings. He was ginormous.

"I am Co-Admin. The 3rd most powerful being in the universe." He grinned widely, "And I'm here to fuck shit up."

"Together we were two halves of the same mech. A durable jet and a skilled fighter." The giant mech spoke, "we are Co-Admin!"

A hologram came out of his eyes. It showed Rob and Dion standing. They seemed younger.

"I am the third strongest being in existence," Co-Admin got a wicked grin, "my one goal in life is protecting these two men."

Sane came running forward, transforming into his mech. He had wheels on his feet. He stopped moving and slid forward. He was in the middle of saying something when Co-Admin stuck out a sharpened Gauntlet. It went straight through Sane's mech and into his chest. His mech exploded into ooze and he was on the ground.

"What happened?" He coughed out on the ground. Co-Admin removed a gauntlet. He pressed a finger up against Sane.

"Oh nothing," Co-Admin smiled, "everything's fine."

He smashed his finger down, causing Sane to die instantly.

"See? All better." He smiled. Brine looked to Saiya and they both nodded. They too went running. Co-Admin blew a bubble to them, trapping them inside. They couldn't pop it.

"Let us out of here!" Brine shouted.

"It's no use, we're under Presidential Review." Saiya said.

"That was more fact-statey than it was jokey." Co-Admin replied. Saiya rolled her eyes and sat down.

"Sit down, Brine," Saiya sighed, "we're gonna be here for a while."

Brine sat down. Buttercream and Sanic looked to each other.

"Oh no, you guys are fine." Co-Admin giggled, "We just want to watch you fight."

Co-Admin scooped both of them up and applied pressure. Buttercream quickly turned into his mech and fell to safety. Sanic didn't transform.

"We've... We've never seen his mech have we?" Brine was concerned. Saiya confirmed his thought with a simple, "No we haven't". Sanic squirmed and grunted.

"Am I defective or something?" Sanic questioned.

"I'm not sure. You're clearly in danger." Co-Admin was actually serious. Sanic squirmed some more. Saiya's eyes turned blank. She started having intense government flashbacks. She blinked wildly and opened her eyes back up.

"SANIC'S AN F-A MECHA." She blurted out.

"F-A?" Buttercream asked through his mech, "What does that mean?"

"Fusion-Assistant. Very few carry this rare ability. He only becomes a mech when he's right next to one, so that he can make them powerful. Buttercream, you have to jump up to him. Don't worry about crushing him!" Saiya informed him.

Buttercream got into a rabbit hop stance and slung himself into the air. He turned to face down while in the sky and went whizzing down. He collapsed into Co-Admin's hands, breaking his grasp on Sanic. There was a large puff of smoke and when it cleared there was only one mech. Buttercream was now a large orange rabbit with pads on his knees and shoulders. He had a chest plate, a gladiator helmet and holes in his hands. He balled up his fists. When he opened them, two pulsating orange spike balls came out. He threw them both towards the forest, causing them to make large explosions.

"Now we're cooking," the fusion mech laughed. He cracked his knuckles and went zooming towards Co-Admin. He clasped his hands together, making a loud beep noise. After five seconds he disengaged them, revealing a large spike ball. He grabbed it by one elastic spike and started spinning around at a near untrackable speed. He let go of the spike with confidence. He stopped spinning in time to see it sail across the air and explode on Co-Admin.

"Motherfucker!" Co-Admin's chest was partially destroyed, revealing the fusion of Sam and Polar. A flimsy scrap of metal quickly grafted in its place.

"Rob." Dion spoke softly.

"What is it, Dion?" Rob responded.

"Put the ship into durability mode." Dion ordered.

"Why?" Rob was confused.

"Co-Admin's not gonna make it. I have to be ready to wipe these guys out. I can't defend you once I'm gone. If I die... The ship has to be ready." Dion's voice was grim. Rob nodded.

"Ship, unload Dur.pln!" Rob commanded.

"You have requested to unload 'Dur.pln'. After this command has been executed, the ship can no longer return to it's normal state. Are you sure you'd like to unl-" The ship got cut off.

"Yes." Rob responded, "There's gonna be awhile before the ship's ready, Dion. Let's have a final chat before it happens."

Co-Admin launched his gauntlet towards the fusion mech's face. It faced down, so that the gauntlet hit his helmet. There was a ringing noise, but no damage was done to the mech otherwise.

"Nice try," Spikecream laughed it off, "but you're gonna need more than that to take down Spikecream."

Spikecream unleashed a volley of bombs towards Co-Admin. He was dazed. Spikecream again clasped his hands together. This time he did it for 15 seconds. He unleashed the biggest bomb yet and chucked it at the unresponsive Co-Admin. After the cloud of debris cleared, all that remained was the foundation and a barely alive fusion of Polar and Sam.

"Not yet!" The human Co-Admin sputtered out, "I'M NOT DYING TODAY!"

A seemingly diamond coat hardened over the foundation, making the most intimidating mech yet.

"Many people have tried and failed to defeat me. You are no different!" Co-Admin shouted, "You value nothing!"

"Yes I do!" Spikecream wrapped his arms around Co-Admin, "I value my friends. We already lost Sane, which is sad enough. But why did HE have to go? Him, Brine and Saiya were the only good members of the team. We just brought them down time and time again. None of this would've happened if we died instead of the more valuable members. So this is the right thing to do!"

"Right thing to do?" Saiya didn't realize what was happening. Brine watched in shocked. Spikecream had been creating a giant bomb. It was growing by the second ever since he grabbed Co-Admin. By the time Saiya realized, the bomb was wrapped around Co-Admin's entire body and most of Spikecream's.

"This is what had to be done." Spikecream barely finished saying before the bomb exploded under its own pressure. It popped Saiya and Brine's bubble. They both blacked out. They woke and walked up to a large crater. Inside there were 4 charred bodies, definitely dead. Saiya and Brine fell to their knees in mourning, knowing that they were the only people on their team left. The only heroes left in the world.

"This was a great conversation." Dion smiled.

"Our conversations always were good. Ever since we were kids." Rob teared up a little bit, "Now go. Get out there, finish what I started."

"I read you loud and clear," Dion nodded, stepping out.

"Oh, and Dion?" Rob stopped him.

"Yes?" Dion turned around.

"Thank you for being my friend." Rob smiled. The two hugged and Dion left.

"38% LOADED"
