Stanford Pines - Eager scientist born circa 1950 with a birth defect, which made him have 6 fingers on each hand. Stanford also has an incredibly high IQ, and is into "sci-fi mystery weirdness". His favorite board game is "Dungeons, Dungeons and More Dungeons", and he almost made it into West Coast Tech, but had to settle for Backupsmore University. There, he met his best friend, Fiddleford McGucket. They were as thick as thieves in college, but they slowly went there different ways. One day, Stanford found out about the wonders of anomalies, and then after research, began to study the slumber town in Roadkill County, Oregon, called Gravity Falls. He also began to keep a journal about his findings, in hopes of the world finding them. Suddenly, he hit a roadblock in his scientific study, so he reads ancient writing in a cave. After he read it, he had a peculiar dream about a triangular demon named Bill Cipher. They became best friends in research, and it's been hinted that Stanford used to worship him at one point, due to excessive posters and gold sculptures crafted after him. At the same time, Stanford called upon McGucket to come help him. McGucket accepted the offer, and they worked together on cracking the code of this town. At the same time, Bill told Stanford he could complete his research by making a gateway to other worlds. Because they were friends, Stanford trusted him…. until McGucket got a hold of Bill's true plans on bringing the nightmare realm to the Gravity Falls world. After that, Stanford ripped out every poster of Bill and covered up Bill's plans with red ink, because he didn't want anyone to find out about Bill's plans. After doing so, he became extremely paranoid and he began to hear voices in his head. He feared he was losing his sanity, so he hid his journals in the woods, and called upon his twin brother Stanley to help him bury the final journal. Upon doing so, Stanley went to town and saw Stanford paranoid. After a rough encounter, Stanley accidentally shoves Stanford into the interdimensional gateway, and then due to shame, fakes his death and takes his brothers' identity. (This happened in 1982, making Stanford around 32 at the time) 30 years later (2012) when Stanford comes back, he finds out that the US government is onto him, so he dismantles the gateway, but due to the instability of the machine, it created an inter-dimensional rift, which had to be contained at all times. That's pretty much all we know about him as of today.
