Can i still join?
Spoiler:
Sure thing, you can either create a Mayor character, a Town Guard character, or if you're feeling creative, any role that might be found in a Medieval Town (except Village Idiot and Town Drunk, one is enough of those).
Also no OP magic.
p.s. You can be a pet if you want (dog, cat, eagle, turtle, etc.)
reserve me a major.

Spoiler:
Name: Travis Parker
Appearance: So, Travis is a somewhat tall guy (only 180cm/5'11'' tho) with no hair, and slightly bluish grey eyes. Above his right ear is a scar he got back in the military. He usually tries to cover it with a helmet of some sort. He's about late 50-ish or so.
Why your character is/became the role he is: See, he exposed the previous mayor's corruption. People got angry, and since the mayor was screwing the village's guards over too, they turned against him as well. The only problem was that there was no one to replace him. The village without its leader has fallen into disarray, and the major goons decided to exploit it.
Then, Parker proved to people he's a great commander. Despite guards being rather unequipped thanks to the previous mayor's lack of care, he managed to lead them to victory. In gratitude, he was chosen to be the mayor. And guess what, he's doing kinda well so far.
Personality: He has a great sense of justice, and gets pretty pissed off when someone tries to make a bitch out of it. With some mental effort, he's capable of being calm and collected, but mostly, he's just hammy, and inspiring people to do the right thing, ya know. Not afraid to go into the field, but at least that little bit smart enough to stay in the back. His body is not what it used to be after all.
Backstory: Well, Travis is not really from here. He served as an officer for a long time for the king himself. He played a part in every major war, motivating people to fight. After his eventful and successful service, the kind king decided to reward Parker with a plot of land in a random village, and enough money to live of it to the end of his days.
It turned to be the OC Village.
Then he noticed the previous mayor was a fucking prick. He noticed the previous mayor was in cahoots with some local raiders. They robbed the caravans on the nearby trade route and shared profits, he focused the guards attention somewhere else and ensued their equipment would put them at disadvantage with his (more numerous) goons.
Of course, Travis looked at that and noticed it's bullshit.
He managed to prove the mayor's vile actions (he also sacrificed some of his own money in the process), and the rest is history.
Qualities:Travis is a great military commander. He's capable of spotting flaws in enemy's formation, weaknesses in their tactics, and advantages and disadvantages provided by the terrain. He can use that knowledge to form a plan of attack, or to fortify the defenses. That somewhat aids him as a mayor, if there's a need to fend off some bandits, or if the village's defenses just suck .
Of course, that alone does not win wars. The army is full of nutjobs, conflicts, and plain douchebags. As a leader, Parker had to ensure his subordinates would not kill each other. The soldiers remember him as a mixture of father to his men, kind but stern, and that crazy awesome uncle who has a lot of badass stories to share. His attitude and speaking skills helped soldiers look past their squabbles and notice there's a fucking war to win. Believe it or not, this helped a lot in the Village. In that particular aspect, leading citizens of a settlement is just like leading an army.
He can also fight, with his fists or his sword. I mean, he did not fight too much in the actual front lines, but he had to outclass several assassins. And he treats his skills kinda seriously. He wouldn't really expect soldiers to respect him, if he could not stand up and fight...or at least defend.
Defects/Faults: His body is past his prime. Sure, he constantly trains to keep his body in great shape for his age, but at this stage, his body can act up sometimes. And he sometimes forgets about it.
