Okay, I might as well post my big list of ideas I had saved in a Word Document before it gets too unwieldly...
Che Guavera VS Guy Fawkes
(Revolutionaries whose images are often reused and whose messages/lives/motives may often be forgotten [ironically enough] or misinterpreted)
King Arthur VS John F. Kennedy
(Leaders of Camelot, lots to work with for both)
Mulder & Scully VS Agent J & K
(Obviously both are famous fictional paranormal investigators, with a major focus on aliens, but they go about it in different ways…dunno why, but them doing Ghostbusters, Bill & Ted, and Robocop VS Terminator makes me want to see this…it could involve some general conspiracy theory stuff as well…)
King Tut VS Kim Jong-un
(...would be great if Egypt/North Korea battles didn't already exist...but yeah, boy king VS boy dictator, basically)
Dracula VS Frankenstein
(The most famous horror novels/movies…start out with Dr. Frankenstein, with the Monster acting like his stereotypical movie self in the background, then finish with the monster turning on Frankenstein, then rapping with some decent vocabulary)
Willy Wonka VS John Hammond (Jurassic Park) OR Henry Ford
(If you want more history, and the “factory” connection, go with Ford. I don’t know how exactly to word it with Hammond, other than “tours of impossible places”, but I think there’d be enough material to work with, maybe even more than Ford. I’ve heard the Willy Wonka VS Milton Hershey idea before, but I don’t think there’s enough material for Hershey that people would get, other than “yeah, he made the chocolate as well”. I dunno…)
Erwin Rommel VS Solid Snake
(Soldiers, animal nicknames, “Desert Fox” VS Foxhound. Egoraptor as Snake is a must, along with other Grumps making cameos via Snake’s Codec, i.e. Danny as Otacon, Barry(or Brian?) as the Colonel, Suzy as Mei-Ling)
Popeye VS Achilles
(Fighter most famous for one thing giving him great strength VS warrior most famous for one crippling weakness in his otherwise stellar career)
Alternatively, for a Greek myth VS cartoon battle…
Homer VS Matt Groening
(Yes, the [literal] epic poet VS the guy who created the Simpsons, and the character of the same name. I am silly. Very contrasting, but still influential fiction creators. Yes, I realize Matt Groening VS Seth MacFarlane is more popular, but I don’t think that has enough history/weird contrast to be really great. I could be wrong, though. :S)
The Axis Powers VS the Galactic Empire
(This is basically how I wanted Hitler VS Vader to end, just have a bunch of them on a team go against each other, and then maybe have the Rebels and the Allies come in and beat them all. Maybe that’s all too much…maybe as a series finale?)
Kratos VS Richard Dawkins
(Dummy match-up that I thought of since there’s already a Nintendo [Mario Bros., naturally] rap battle and an X-Box one [Master Chief], as well. So why not a PlayStation one? Thing is, a Solid Snake fight w/the StarBomb/Game Grumps crew sounds like a better match than this, but there’s still some decent connections, despite the fact that I call this a “dummy match-up”. One has directly encountered and killed gods, while the other advocates and writes against a belief in God or any gods at all. The high contrast and some similarities are there, but part of me feels it’s a bit too silly, even for an ERB idea, and even for an idea I came up with.)
