Here’s my review of King Arthur vs. Henry VIII. Next is Dracula vs. Beast.
Spoiler:King Arthur-Round 1: First line is pretty obvious, and the second line references something very exploitable without joking about it. The Mordred line’s also pretty obvious but decent, and the last line isn’t really that much of a joke. The next line is filled with generic insults, and the next line isn’t much of a joke either. Next line is too fact-statey, but the last line is great. 7/10
Henry VIII-Round 1: The first line is a pretty basic line, and the second line is too fact-statey and not jokey enough. The next lines are kind of immature and not that clever, but the general direction line is a nice reference, and so are the last two lines. 8/10
King Arthur-Round 2: First line has a non-insulting reference and then a jokeless reference, but the next two lines are pretty strong puns. The last line is OK. Kind of an obvious line, but it’s still the best verse in the battle. 8.5/10
Henry VIII-Round 2: The first line is too fact-statey, and the second line isn’t really much of a joke. The third line is OK, but not that great and the last line is definitely too simple and is pretty much referenceless. 6.5/10
Overall: There are definitely some really clever and funny lines in the battle. Unfortunately, they’re brought down by filler lines, referenceless lines and jokeless lines. The puns are great, and a few of the comparisons are really clever. Just try to make every lines something you’re proud of and these could grow. 7.5/10
King Arthur’s Best Line: So take your shattered legacy and go fucketh thine self
King Arthur’s Worst Line: This egotistic, insecure, lustful little twat
Henry VIII’s Best Line: I'll split you in two like England and Rome, school you like the Knights of Ni
Henry VIII’s Worst Line: Cause you and I both know I'm the greatest king England ever had
Final Results:
King Arthur: 14.5/20
Henry VIII: 15.5/20
Total Score: 37.5/50
